弟 こんしゑんしやをよくきうめいずる
為にちかみちありや
師 中々ありまづ我がこしかたゐたる所とさん
くはいしたる人となしたる所作と同く
ゐたる所にては何たる事をしけるぞさん
くはいしたる人ともには何たる事をいひけ
るぞと云事をしあんする為のひまをさ
だめ御おきてのまだめんとゑけれじ
やのまだめんと七のもるたる科十四の
慈悲の所作についてあやまりありやいな
やをたゝすべし是第一肝要の事なれば
ゆるかせなきやうにかくごすべし
弟 第三のまだめんとをは何と分別すべ
現代語訳
することである。
弟子：良心をよく究明するために近道はありや。
師：もちろんある。まず我が過去にいた所と、懺悔した人となした所作と共にいた所では何たる事をしたであろうか、懺悔した人ともには何たる事を言ったであろうかという事を思案するための時間を定め、御掟の十戒と七つの大罪の十戒と七つの漏れたる罪、十四の慈悲の所作について過ちがあるかないかを糾すべし。これは第一肝要の事なれば、疎かにしないように覚悟すべし。

Master: Certainly there is. First, one should set aside time to reflect on the places where one has been in the past and the actions one has taken with people one has confessed with - what did one do in the places where one stayed, what did one say to the people with whom one confessed? One should examine whether there are any errors regarding the Ten Commandments, the Seven Deadly Sins, the additional sins that may have been overlooked, and the fourteen works of mercy. Since this is a matter of primary importance, one should be prepared not to treat it carelessly.
