弟 もし人あつて此もんを唱へすしてみづをか
くるか又はことばの半分を云か或は其こ
とばの内一つなり共かきてみつをかくるか
或はもんをば悉く唱へてみづをかくるとい
へどもみづをかけざる前か後か右のもむを
唱るにをひてはいかゝあるべきや
師 みづをかくると共に唱へずんはばうちず
もをうけたるにてはあるべからず又もん
をも達して唱る事肝要也たゝしそれが
しと云ことばかあめんと云ことばか或は
ばうちずもをうくる人の名をば云はず共
ばうちずもと成也此三をのぞきてよの
ことばの内一つなり共かくるにをひてはばう
ちずもを授りたるにはあらず
現代語訳
弟子：もし人があってこの文を唱えずして水をかけるか、または言葉の半分を言うか、或いはその言葉の内一つなりとも欠いて水をかけるか、或いは文をば悉く唱えて水をかけると言えども、水をかけざる前か後か、右の文を唱うるにおいてはいかがあるべきや。
師：水をかけると共に唱えずんば洗礼を受けたるにてはあるべからず。また文をも完全して唱うること肝要なり。ただしそれがしと言う言葉か、アーメンと言う言葉か、或いは洗礼を受くる人の名をば言わず共、洗礼となり。この三を除きて余の言葉の内一つなりとも欠くるにおいては洗礼を授りたるにはあらず。
英語訳
Disciple: If someone either pours water without reciting these words, or says only half the words, or omits even one word while pouring water, or recites all the words while pouring water but recites the aforementioned text either before or after pouring the water rather than simultaneously - what should be done in such cases?
Master: If one does not recite the words while simultaneously pouring the water, then baptism has not been received. Also, it is essential to recite the text completely. However, even if the words "I" or "Amen" are omitted, or if the name of the person receiving baptism is not mentioned, it still constitutes baptism. But if any other word besides these three is omitted, then baptism has not been properly administered.
