弟 ばうちずもを授からずしても扶る道別に
有りや
師 後生を扶る為にそうじてなくして叶はざ
る道也是によて叶にをひて達して扶るべ
き事也さりなから人有てばうちずもを授
りたくのぞむと云へ共其ついてを得ずし
て其まゝ死すると云とも真実に其身の
ゆだんなくんばたとひみづのばうち
ずもをば授からずとも扶るべき者也其故は
ばうちずものゝぞみ深かりしによて也然
れ共是も右に云し如くをかせる科のこう
くはいもつとも肝要也
弟 ばうちずもをば誰人の授け給ふぞ
師 本々の儀ならばばうちずもを授る事は
現代語訳
弟子：洗礼を受けずとも救われる道は別にありますか。
師：来世を救われるために、総じてなくしては叶わない道である。これによって叶うにおいて完全して救われるべき事である。されながら人があって洗礼を受けたく望むと言えども、その機会を得ずしてそのまま死すると言っても、真実にその身の油断なくんば、たとい水の洗礼をば受けずとも救われるべき者である。その故は洗礼への望みが深かりしによってである。然れどもこれも右に言いし如く犯せる罪の悔悛最も肝要である。
弟子：洗礼をば誰人の授け給うぞ。
師：本来の儀ならば洗礼を授ることは

Disciple: Is there another path to salvation without receiving baptism?
Master: For salvation in the afterlife, it is generally an indispensable path. Through this, one should be completely saved when it is accomplished. However, even if there is a person who desires to receive baptism but cannot find the opportunity and dies in that state, if that person is truly without negligence, they can still be saved even without receiving water baptism. This is because their desire for baptism was deep. Nevertheless, as I mentioned before, repentance for sins committed is most essential.
