の御やくそくの事也是等の儀を知ずんば
なんぎにあふへき時頼む所なしとおもひて心
をうしなふ事もあるへし是又あにまの大
なるさはり也○身持を以てつとむへき事とは☩か
りたあての善にあたる事也是等の事をこゝ
ろえさればでうすの御おきてをそむく事度
度あるへしそれによて此三の善にあたる事
きりしたんの為に専なる事也故にがくし
やと名を得られたる善人達は是等の儀につゐて
あまたの経をかきをき給ふ者也其内に肝要な
る所をゑらびとつてはんにちりばめまよひ
をてらすかゝみとなすへし然は後生の為に専な
る事をきりしたんにをしへん為に☩こん
ばにあのつかさより此ちいさき経にそなへ給ふ
現代語訳
の御約束の事である。これらの儀を知らずんば、難儀に遭うべき時に頼む所なしと思いて心を失うこともあるべし。これまたアニマ（霊魂）の大なる障りである。
○身持ちをもって努むべき事とは☩カリタス（愛徳）の善にあたる事である。これらの事を心得なければデウスの御掟に背くこと度々あるべし。それによってこの三つの善にあたる事はキリシタンの為に専一なる事である。
故に学者と名を得られたる善人達は、これらの儀について数多の経を書き置き給う者である。その内に肝要なる所を選び取って版に散りばめ、迷いを照らす鏡となすべし。
然らば後生の為に専一なる事をキリシタンに教えん為に、☩コンパニア（イエズス会）の司よりこの小さき経に備え給う
英語訳
concerns His promises. If one does not know these matters, when facing difficulties, one might think there is nowhere to rely upon and lose heart. This too is a great hindrance to the anima (soul).
○ Things to be striven for through conduct correspond to the virtue of ☩ Caritas (Charity/Love). Without understanding these things, one would frequently transgress against the commandments of Deus. Therefore, matters pertaining to these three virtues are of paramount importance for Christians.
Hence, good men who have gained the name of scholars have written many scriptures about these matters. From among these, the essential parts should be selected and arranged in print to serve as a mirror that illuminates confusion.
Thus, in order to teach Christians what is most important for salvation in the afterlife, the superior of the ☩ Companhia (Society of Jesus) has prepared this small scripture
