じき為又其所作はでうすのくらう
りやと成奉為也
弟 我等がてきとは何たる者ぞ
師 世界 天狗 色身 これ也
弟 此三の事をなにしに人間のてきとは
云ぞや
師 てきとはあにまにしきりに科ををかさ
する事かなはねども悪をすゝめ又其道
にひきかたふくる事かなふによて也
弟 彼三様のてきよりおこすてんたさん
をでうすやめたまはぬ事はいかん
師 それとてきたいでうすの御合力を以て
りうんをひらき又其りうんの御く
はんじやうを与へたまはん為也
現代語訳
ためであり、またその行いがデウスの栄光となるためである。
弟子 我等の敵とは何者ですか。
師 世界、天狗、色身、これである。
弟子 この三つのことをなぜ人間の敵というのですか。
師 敵とは魂にしきりに罪を犯させることはできないが、悪を勧め、またその道に引き込み惑わすことができるからである。
弟子 かの三様の敵より起こす誘惑をデウスがお止めにならないのはなぜですか。
師 それは敵と戦ってデウスの御助力をもって勝利を開き、またその勝利の御褒美をお与えくださるためである。
英語訳
...in order that those actions may become the glory of Deus.
Disciple: What are our enemies?
Master: The world, tengu (demons), and the flesh - these are they.
Disciple: Why are these three things called enemies of mankind?
Master: Though enemies cannot force the soul to commit sins repeatedly, they are called enemies because they can recommend evil and lead one astray into that path.
Disciple: Why does Deus not stop the temptations that arise from those three kinds of enemies?
Master: It is so that by fighting against enemies, one may achieve victory through Deus's divine assistance, and He may grant the reward for that victory.
