りしと御弟子達に教へ給ふおらしよな

○第四あべまりあの事
弟 でうすに対し奉りてのみおらしよを
申べきや
師 其儀にあらず我等が御とりあはせ手にて
御座ます諸のへあと中にも悪人の為
になかだちとなり給ふ御母びるぜん
さんたまりあにもおらしよを申也
弟 びるぜんさんたまりあに申上奉るさだ
まりたるおらしよありや
師 あべまりあと云おらしよ也たゝいま教ゆ
現代語訳
りしと御弟子達にお教えになった祈りであるからです。
○第四 アヴェ・マリアのこと
弟子 神に対してのみ祈りを申し上げるべきでしょうか。
師 そうではありません。我等の仲介者でいらっしゃる諸聖人の中でも、悪人のために執り成しとなってくださる御母聖母サンタ・マリアにも祈りを申し上げます。
弟子 聖母サンタ・マリアに申し上げる定まった祈りはありますか。
師 アヴェ・マリアという祈りです。ただ今教えましょう。

Disciple: Should we pray only to God?
Master: That is not so. Among the various saints who serve as our intercessors, we also pray to the Virgin Saint Mary, our Mother, who intercedes especially for sinners.
Disciple: Is there an established prayer to be offered to the Virgin Saint Mary?
Master: It is the prayer called Ave Maria. I shall teach it to you now.
