　長門守侍共十人有馬村へ船に而参る陸へ上る侍は

「拝みなさい」と大変なことのように言い触らしたので、先年キリシタンから転宗した者共が残らず、その三吉の所へ参り、キリシタンの本尊を拝んだ。そこで、すぐに二十一日の晩、松倉長門守の侍共十人が有馬村へ船で参った。陸へ上がった侍は、右十人の内、松田兵右衛門、多良尾松兵衛の両人である。キリシタンに立ち返った大将三吉を、男女とも六人捕らえた。

別本島原記によると、桂杢之助、桑野八兵衛両人が島原の城へ十月二十一日に帰り、右の意趣を家老共へ申したところ、仕置きのため、残る代官共を村々へ遣わした。

兵衛は蜜柑を取って江戸へ遣わすため口之津にいたところ、山田右衛門作という松倉の絵師が来て両人へ申すには「この地で宗門の徒党が蔓延り、代官の制止も用いられません。そうである以上は、両人はここを引き取るのがよろしいでしょう」と言った。すぐに庄屋の女房を案内として、脇道を夜中引き退いて有江村へ寄り、代官村田作右衛門へ申すには「島原へ共に引き取るのがよろしいでしょう」と言った。村田は言うには「我が退けば、いよいよ勝手なことになるでしょう。その上、深江村の代官白石市郎右衛門、相良金左衛門に評議すべき由を申して」退かなかった。桂杢之丞、桑野八兵衛両人は今日島原の城へ帰ったとのことである。

He proclaimed as if it were a great matter, saying "Worship!" As a result, all those who had previously converted from Christianity went to Sankichi's place and worshipped the Christian deity. Therefore, immediately on the evening of the 21st, ten retainers of Matsukura Nagato-no-kami went by boat to Arima Village. Of these ten retainers who came ashore, there were two: Matsuda Hyōemon and Tarao Matsuhei. They captured six people, both men and women, including Sankichi, the leader who had returned to Christianity.

According to another record of Shimabara, Katsura Mokunōsuke and Kuwano Hachihei returned to Shimabara Castle on October 21st and reported this matter to the senior retainers, who then sent the remaining deputies to the villages for punishment.

According to the separate record of the Shimabara suppression, on October 21st, Katsura Mokunōjō and Kuwano Hachiheiwere in Kuchinotsu to gather mandarin oranges to send to Edo, when Yamada Uemonsaku, Matsukura's painter, came and said to both men:

"Religious conspirators are spreading in this area, and the deputies' attempts to stop them are ineffective. Under these circumstances, it would be best for you both to withdraw from here." Immediately, using the village headman's wife as a guide, they retreated through back roads during the night and stopped at Arie Village, where they told deputy Murata Sakuemon: "It would be best to withdraw together to Shimabara." Murata replied: "If I withdraw, things will become even more unruly. Moreover, I must consult with Shiraishi Ichirōemon and Sagara Kinzaemon, deputies of Fukae Village," and he did not withdraw. Katsura Mokunōjō and Kuwano Hachihei both returned to Shimabara Castle today.
