　候者此節之儀故我々共にも御参遣御尤に候
　此上は我々中人質を指上可申由に付左候はゝ
　忠節悦入候とて各町人等之人質を所望して鉄
　炮長柄其外武具を為出借し申候得は慥に忠
　節之志故他国に而も聞伝へ致褒美候新兵衛
　宗夫主水等其夜皆々勢賦し手分致城中に
　も堅固に留守居に人数を置明々暁一揆等退
　治に可打立由終夜令陣用意候
島原一揆松倉記日藤宝甚吉は有馬村之定役人
　に而彼所に住居す世倅加兵衛は勘定役人に而

　迚廿五日之夜陸路を通り有馬村え行処を布
　津村に而一揆に取巻れ加兵衛働といへ共敵

　一此度部家依城代多賀主水人数揃雖被向馳
　　陣所勢参御引入之義沙汰之限候誠以蟷螂
　　斧向就事此儀候乍然一同不顧込命則雖被
　　張魚鱗鶴翼陣落城危者也小勢成共明日可

候者」と申したので「この事態ゆえ我々にもお参加いただくのがもっともである。この上は我々の中から人質を差し出そう」ということになり「それであれば忠節を喜んで受け入れよう」として、各町人等から人質を求めて鉄砲・長柄その他武具を貸し出したところ、確実に忠節の志であるので他国でも聞き伝えて褒美したという。新兵衛・宗夫・主水等はその夜皆々で軍勢を編成し手分けして、城中にも堅固に留守居の人数を置き、明け方には一揆等を退治に打って出るということで、終夜陣の用意をした。

島原に住んでいた。一揆が起こったので親子は心配になり、廿五日の夜陸路を通って有馬村へ行こうとしたところ、布津村で一揆に取り囲まれた。加兵衛は戦ったが敵が大勢だったので寄ってたかって討ち殺された。父の甚吉はその土地の者に案内してもらい山越えで島原へ帰った。

In response, "If that is the case, we gladly accept your loyalty," and they requested hostages from each of the townspeople and lent out firearms, long spears, and other military equipment. Since this was clearly a display of loyal intentions, word spread to other provinces and praise was given. Shinbei, Munetsugu, Mondo and others organized their forces that night, divided responsibilities, stationed a sufficient number for castle defense, and prepared all night for battle formations to sally forth at dawn to suppress the rebels.

According to the Shimabara Rebellion Matsukura Record, Fujitakara Kinkichi was a regular official of Arima village and resided there. His son Kahei was an accounting official and

resided in Shimabara. When the rebellion broke out, the father and son became anxious, so on the night of the 25th they attempted to travel by land route to Arima village, but were surrounded by rebels at Futsu village. Although Kahei fought, the enemy was numerous, so they overwhelmed and killed him. His father Kinkichi was guided by local people and returned to Shimabara by crossing the mountains.
