木曽贄川宿の久蔵は元々八右衛門と縁故のある者であったので、金子の調達を久蔵に申し談じ、酒造を合わせて稼業としたいと申した。そこで久蔵が私の方へ来て申し聞かせたのは、金子二百両ずつを出し合って酒造の諸入用に

共にその金子で取り計らい、合わせて造ることにする規定で、諸事が行き届いた。翌酉年、兄の八右衛門と横川村の所右衛門が美濃国中津川へ赴き、久蔵が出向いて、かねて申し談じていた通り金百両を両人で受け取り、帰村の上で私の方へ受取証を持参した。その後久蔵が持参してさらに金百両を受け取り、都合金二百両を酉年九月中に借用した。その際、所右衛門・八右衛門両人宛名の印紙を差し入れた。これについて年々四月中に立会いして勘定を行い、利益分を割り当てて、戌年から寅年まで年々勘定を済ませた。

Since Kyūzō of Narakawa-juku in Kiso had long-standing connections with Hachiuemon, I discussed with Kyūzō about arranging financing, wanting to combine sake brewing as a joint business venture. Kyūzō then came to my place and explained that we would each contribute two hundred ryō in gold for the various expenses of sake brewing.

Together we would manage with that money and produce sake jointly according to the agreement, with all matters properly arranged. In the following year of the Rooster, elder brother Hachiuemon and Shōuemon of Yokogawa village went to Nakatsugawa in Mino Province, where Kyūzō went out to meet them, and as previously discussed, the two men received one hundred ryō in gold, and upon returning to the village, brought the receipt to me. After that, Kyūzō brought another one hundred ryō in gold, making a total of two hundred ryō borrowed during the ninth month of the year of the Rooster. At that time, I submitted a sealed document addressed to both Shōuemon and Hachiuemon. Regarding this matter, we met annually in the fourth month to settle accounts and distribute profit shares, completing the annual accounting from the year of the Dog through the year of the Tiger.
