為朝外伝弓張月題詞
槍・刀・剣・戟三千隊。鉄馬・金戈一万重。将を斬り
堅陣に入りて敵する人なし。まさに冠者をして英雄を顕わすべし
柳を射て楊を穿つ芸術奇なり。保元の敵将ついに支え難し。兵を駆りて
陣に入れば山川暗し。賊を斬りて営に帰れば日色低し。
錦袍金甲黄騾馬。玉帯銀兜素糸の帯。腰下に
彫弓しきりに箭を挿み。手中に鉄を鑽る利鋒刀。
日出でて扶桑二丈高し。金蘭いずれの処にか生を匿して逃げん。男児
いまだ平生の志を遂げず。磨き損ず腰間血を帯びる刀。

Preface Poem for "Tametomo's Tale: The Crescent Moon Bow"
Spears, swords, blades, and halberds in three thousand squadrons. Iron horses and golden spears in ten thousand ranks. Slaying generals
and entering firm battle formations, there is no one who can oppose him. Indeed, he should make this young warrior display his heroism.
The art of shooting willows and piercing poplars is wondrous. The enemy generals of the Hōgen era finally could not withstand him. When he drives soldiers
into battle, mountains and rivers grow dark. When he slays bandits and returns to camp, the sun hangs low.
Brocade robes, golden armor, yellow mule-horse. Jade belt, silver helmet, plain silk cord. At his waist
an ornate bow frequently holds arrows. In his hand, a sharp-edged blade that pierces iron.
The sun rises two fathoms high over Fusang. Where can the golden orchid hide to escape with its life? This man
has not yet fulfilled his life's ambition. He wears down the blood-stained sword at his waist.
