英語訳

Grief overwhelms him, unable to bear the parting during drunken hours; his thoughts reach their limit and he returns, seeking a quiet place. Who made them share the same bed only to part again? He knew not that the road of life is inherently without sentiment. With a single word of mutual joy, they sharpen the bond that cuts gold. The exiled soldier, even now, comes to know his lord's heart. He feasts at the eight shrines on the islands of the Eastern Sea. Yet he envies still the depth of grace and virtue bestowed through the years. In bloody battle, he repays his lord with loyalty. Cutting through strongholds and entering battle formations — how many thousand leagues? Where now lie the hero's achievements? He turns his head and broods in solitude on the lone island. The warships clash, their force like the tide. An entire army is swept away and scattered. How pitiable — the bones of the noble woman lie on the island. Still bearing the voice of her grievance, the raging waves surge forth. On the lone island, the blood of battle still runs red. The heroes of those years have all turned to nothing. A passing vessel pauses here to sigh and ask anew. One laments amid the west wind and the evening glow. Lifting his head, he laughs heartily at heaven and earth. Meeting in a dream, he points toward the crossing place. Wild geese cry, the clouds clear and the wandering soul disperses. The mountain post station remains, and all things appear fresh and new. Valiant and brave, Lord Tametomo's martial strategy is wondrous. The soldiers of the Western Provinces need only see his banner and are undaunted. Heroes submit before his long arrows. His great achievements over a thousand years spread to distant barbarian lands. A killing aura comes from the south, chilling the battle-hardened spirit. War clouds drift slowly, veiling the mountain wilderness. The hero plans in advance his strategy for driving back the enemy, and with calm conversation, he shall surely break through the castle gate. The Ryūkyūan army trembles before the Japanese camp. Through every valley and along the mountain ranges, cries of grief resound. Blades meet in the night, cutting down enemies as one. At dawn, flowing blood soaks the empty castle.
