【諏訪神霊の台詞】
「善哉、善哉（ありがたい、ありがたい）。我こそは諏訪の神霊なり。思いがけずも、汝がこの穴に落ち入ったのを救わんとす。この草は『菖蒲入（しょうにゅう）』とて、命の薬なり。決して疑うことなかれ。」
【本文】
三郎は龍の穴に落ち入り、絶命しかけた。そのような折に、ありがたくも諏訪大明神がお声を発して「三郎、三郎」とお呼びになったので、（三郎は）蘇生した。そのとき、「菖蒲入（しょうにゅう）」という草を食べて、穴の中にしばらくとどまった。しかし、突き落とされたために左の足を打ち折って、歩行ができなかった。

**[Words of the Suwa Deity's Divine Spirit]**
"Splendid, splendid! I am none other than the divine spirit of Suwa. Unexpectedly, you have fallen into this pit, and I shall save you. This herb is called *shōnyū* — it is the medicine of life. Do not, under any circumstances, doubt it."
**[Narrative]**
Saburō had fallen into the Dragon's Pit and was on the verge of death. At that very moment, by the boundless grace of the Great Deity of Suwa, a divine voice rang out, calling "Saburō! Saburō!" — and so he was restored to life. He then ate the herb called *shōnyū* and remained in the pit for a time. However, because he had been violently pushed down, he had broken his left leg in the fall and was unable to walk.
