の四天だ。こちらの磯井という暖簾のかかっている蔵造りが縄町の手代の遣り繰りをする質屋だ」
《割書：とこう喋舌している所へ、また後ろより二人の船頭と長期奉公人らしき者を乗せて急いで来る。またその後ろよりおなじく二人の船頭で一艘漕ぎ来たる。後ろより来た舟の客が何か船頭に囁いたが、清見の四天河岸へ舟をつけ、一人の船頭が駆け上がって行く。先の舟はもはや稲荷川岸あたりまで行き過ぎる》

朝雛「よくある事だが、あれは大磯遊びの肝要という所さ。
鳥羽瀬の客と見えるが、あの理屈は、先へ行った舟の客と後から来た舟の客と、同じ女郎を並んで買うという奴さ。後から来た奴は先の奴を見知っているから、船頭を陸に駆けさせて、先へ口を利りにやったのさ。先の奴は後の奴を見知らないから、うかうか行ったが、なんぼ急いで行っても、もう後手になるという奴さ。後の舟はいくら
