「まあ、呼んでみましょうか」《割書：とこの間二つ三つ話しているところへ程なく》
いね「呼んでみて板を見てきましたが、いい子どもはさっぱり。そうそう、働いて。お旦那さんにお寅さんが来なさいます。お寅さんというのは新人でございますが、可愛らしい子です。朝さん、お鶴さんを借りて参ろうと思いましたが、お続け向かいだと申しますから、後をつけておきました。そしてお鶴さんはございません。
鬼丈さんと稲吉さんは今来なさいます。いっそ暑いよ」《割書：と帯の後ろへ差した身振狂言の絵を描いた扇を取って胸のあたりを仰ぐ》
朝「詳しく言わなければ分からないというものだ」
いね「また、あんな団子をおっしゃいます。ついぞない。一色お北さんはどうした」
「いや、羽が崎の鯛門屋へ参りました」
朝「出番か」
いね「いいえ、お店の仕事でございません」《割書：と言うところへ子ども出かかり、障子の破れから覗いて見る。これは差し出がましいのではないかと念のためなり}}
