ねつゝ棟（むね）をならべて櫛（くし）の歯（は）を挽（ひ）くにひとし
き人出入 片（かた）ときたへぬ駒下踏（こまけた）の音（おと）は会（よせ）
場（ば）にかしましき夫（それ）が中にも鶴（つる）といふ字（じ）を
鏤（すか）したる竹簾（たけすたれ）かけたるは舞鶴（まひつる）屋 伝（でん）三

の最中の月というものだ。」つる《割書：朝が口をつける》「とても、今日は口をつけて、どうで回しに近づきになっておくんなさいまし。」朝「承知承知。」
第三回
恋と情けの奥深いところとして大磯通に知られた法師屋住まいの小路にして、妓楼が軒を連ね、棟を並べて櫛の歯を引くのに等しき人の出入り、片時も絶えぬ駒下駄の音は寄席場に騒がしい。その中でも「鶴」という字を透かし彫りにした竹簾をかけたのは舞鶴屋伝三という妓楼なり。《割書：内には居候が総銅壺を磨いている。そばには妓楼に付いている子供と見え、七輪で仲服を煎じている。こちらには子直が金魚鉢の水を替えている。折から鎌倉、朝比奈、切通しの判人》
長谷観六《割書：来たり》「親方は御宿か。」
居候「はい、おられます。」
店主伝三《割書：通俗水滸伝を読みかけて昼寝していたが目を覚まし》「おい、観六さん、御出で。」
観六「ときに、いい奉公人がありますから来ました。突き出しだが、通りはよし、身の仕舞いなさあ、こう正直にいい...」
