《割書：折から曽我の五郎時宗という客来る》女「おや、五郎さん。」女「さあ、お上がりなさいませな。」五郎《割書：表の潜りから顔ばかり出し》「いいか、聞いてみてくれねえ。」女「わっちらが内に出ていなさいよ。」
五「そんならあとを付けておいてくださいよ。表の畠山屋に友達が来ているから、そのうち付いて来よう。」女「もしまあ、それじゃあお蝶さんの前へ悪うございます。」五「いいように言っておいてくださいよ。すぐに行ってくらあ。」《割書：と言えども女ども承知せず、無理に引きずり上げる》
五《割書：はや二階へ上がり、ちょうど今朝否や祐成が帰ってまだ出し物や三味線箱の取り散らしてある座敷へ入る》
五「そんなら今のうち八文字屋の湯へ入って汗を流してこよう。」女《割書：そこらを片付け、掃き出しながら》「よしなさいな。そんな事を言って、また表へ行きなさるだ。」
