三拾三里有之由能遠方
罷越別而太義ニ候第一役人共
致安堵候趣可申候此節独活
蕨等沢山ニ有之豆腐も能
出来可申候得ハ夫ニ而事済候
決而肴類差出候ニ及不申候
是非不出ニ而不叶候ハゝ玉子能候
其外曽而心支無用ニ候
一高遠過之義甚不案内ニ候
高遠ゟ先ニ而諏方ハ別れ候
道有之候哉御答ニ
高遠ゟ前伊那部村と申御座候
全体伊奈街道と申候得は
伊那部村ゟ殿村松嶋平出と継
立申候かと奉存候

現代語訳
「三十三里もある由、よくぞ遠方から
参られた。別して大儀である。第一、役人どもも
安堵することでしょう。このような趣旨を申し上げます。この季節は独活や
蕨などが沢山ございますし、豆腐もよく
できることでしょうから、それで事足ります。
決して魚類などをお出しするには及びません。
どうしても出さねばならない場合は卵がよろしいでしょう。
その外は全く気遣い無用です」
一、高遠より先の道のりについて甚だ不案内でございます
「高遠より手前で諏訪とは別れる
道がございますでしょうか」との御質問に
「高遠より手前に伊那部村と申すところがございます。
全体を伊那街道と申しますが、
伊那部村から殿村、松島、平出と継ぎ
立てるのかと存じます」
一、「伊那部から殿村へはどれほどございますか」
「二里でございます」
一、「殿村から松島へはどれほどございますか」
「二里でございます」
一、「松島から平出へはどれほどございますか」
「二里でございます」
一、「平出から岡の谷へは三里ほどでございます」
と申し上げたところ

"It is thirty-three ri away - you have come well from such a distant place.
This is truly commendable service. First of all, the officials will surely
be relieved. I shall convey this matter as follows: At this season there are
plenty of udo (Japanese spikenard) and bracken ferns, and tofu can also be made well,
so that will suffice.
You certainly need not serve fish or such.
If something absolutely must be served, eggs would be good.
Beyond that, there is no need for any concern whatsoever."
One: Regarding the route beyond Takato, I am quite unfamiliar with it.
"Is there a road that branches off from Suwa
before reaching Takato?" he asked.
"There is a place called Inabe village before Takato.
The whole route is called the Ina Highway, and
I believe post stations are established from Inabe village
through Tonomura, Matsushima, and Hiraide."
One: "How far is it from Inabe to Tonomura?"
"Two ri."
One: "How far is it from Tonomura to Matsushima?"
"Two ri."
One: "How far is it from Matsushima to Hiraide?"
"Two ri."
One: "From Hiraide to Oka-no-tani is about three ri,"
