御奉行所様
乍恐以口上書奉願上候御事
一 私義不寄存丁代御役儀奉蒙 仰難有
仕合奉存多年相勤罷在候所老衰仕其上
病身ニ御坐候而御役儀難相勤奉存候依之
御赦免被成下候様奉願上候

右之趣以 御慈悲奉願上候通被為 仰付
被下置候ハヽ難有仕合ニ奉存候以上

右願書例之通末書致十八日於御城ニ四通
伊沢岩右衛門殿御取次ニて差上申候処御預置被成下候
同廿二日御聞済被成下候て四町丁代呼申渡候

御奉行所様
恐れながら口上書をもって願い上げ候事
一 私は思いもよらず町代の御役を仰せつかり、ありがたい
ことと存じ、長年勤めてまいりましたが、老衰いたし、その上
病身でございまして、御役を勤めることが困難と存じます。つきましては
御免職をお許しくださいますよう願い上げます。

右の趣旨について、御慈悲をもって願い上げました通りお聞き届け
くださいましたなら、ありがたい幸せに存じます。以上

右の願書は例の通り末書を記し、十八日に御城において四通を
伊沢岩右衛門殿のお取り次ぎで差し上げ申したところ、お預かりになられ、

Humbly, I submit this petition in writing
1. I unexpectedly received the appointment to serve as town representative, which I
considered a great honor, and have served faithfully for many years. However, I have
become aged and infirm, and moreover suffer from poor health, making it difficult
to fulfill my official duties. Therefore, I humbly petition for permission to resign from my position.

The above petition was submitted in four copies as customary with proper closing
remarks, presented at the castle on the 18th through the intermediary Lord Izawa Iwaemon,
whereupon it was received and held. On the 22nd of the same month, approval was granted
and the town representatives of the four districts were summoned to receive the notification.
