現代語訳

昨年晩夏に
御誕生の慶びを奉賀申し上げた際の使者は、旧冬十月十七日に我が琉球国の岸に到着しました。
すぐに
若君様からの拝領物を謹んで頂戴し、その高恩の程は大洋よりも
深く、また使者及びその扈従・僕隷にも若干の白銀を賜ったことは、ひとえに大
老の御指南によるもので、このような仕合わせに感謝の言葉もございません。これにより読谷山王
子の妹を渡海させますので、松平薩摩守のもとで土産その他について申し達する
ことについては詳細を省略いたします。恐惶謹言

昨夏、御幕下に拝侍し、
御誕生の洪基を奉祝申し上げた際、金武・国頭等の使者は旧冬十月十七・八日両日に
我が琉球国の岸に到着いたしました。そうして
若君様からの拝領物を謹んで頂戴いたしました。このような厚恩・至情は、ひとえに
大老によるものでございます。また貴翁から賜った綿子百把をはじめ、使者への白
銀・夏衣を賜ったことは、まことに至極のことでございます。詳細については今度渡海する読
谷山王子が松平薩摩守のもとで詳しく説明申し上げる予定ですので省略いたします。恐
惶不備

英語訳

Last year in late summer, when we offered congratulations for
the joyous occasion of the birth, the envoy arrived at the shores of our Ryukyu Kingdom on the 17th day of the 10th month of the previous winter.
Immediately, we
humbly received the gifts bestowed by the Young Lord, and the degree of this great benevolence is deeper than the great ocean.
Moreover, that the envoys and their attendants and servants were also granted some silver is entirely due to the guidance of the Great
Elder, and we know not how to express our gratitude for such good fortune. Therefore, we are sending the sister of Prince Yomitanzan across the sea, and she will report about local products and other matters to Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami,
so we shall omit the details here. With utmost reverence and respect.

Last summer, having been granted audience under your honorable curtain government, when we offered congratulations for
the great foundation of the birth, the envoys from Kin, Kunigami and others arrived at the shores of our Ryukyu Kingdom on both the 17th and 18th days of the 10th month of the previous winter.
Then, from the
Young Lord, we humbly received the bestowed gifts. Such profound benevolence and sincere feelings are entirely due to
the Great Elder. Furthermore, the hundred bundles of cotton thread granted by your honor, as well as the silver and summer garments bestowed upon the envoys, are truly most excellent. For details, Prince Yomi-
tanzan, who will cross the sea this time, will provide thorough explanations to Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami, so we shall omit them here. With utmost reverence and inadequate expression.
