現代語訳

貴邦の使价金武・国頭が江戸に来て我が
大君に拝謁し、且つ
大納言殿を奉祝した。その暇を賜って還国する時に音物を遣わされた。足下はその深情を感じて
読谷山王子を以て使者となし、今薩州に渡来して謝辱の趣を、
薩摩守が演じ、即ち
上聞に達したところ、
御喜色があった。遠慮を労されることなかれ。また我が済の贈った薄儀を謝されたのは
慇懃の至りではないか。贈られた土産は数の如く之を領し、収納して欣然としている。その他のことは
薩摩守を使って告げさせる。恐々不宣

貴国の使价金武・国頭が来貢して我が
幼君を奉賀し、暇を賜って帰国する時に若干の音物を遣わされた。足下はこれを奉戴し、今
復た読谷山王子を以て使者となして薩州に渡来し、拝辱の趣を、
薩摩守が具に述べ、且つ我が済の薄儀を謝されたのは慇懃と

英語訳

the envoys from your noble country, Kin and Kunigami, came to Edo to have audience with our
Great Lord and also offered congratulations to
His Excellency the Dainagon. When they were granted leave to return to their country, gifts were bestowed. Your Excellency, moved by this deep sentiment,
appointed Prince Yomitanzan as an envoy, who has now crossed over to Satsuma Province to express gratitude. This matter
Satsuma-no-kami reported, and it was immediately brought to
His Lordship's attention, resulting in
expressions of royal pleasure. Do not trouble yourself with distant concerns. Moreover, your expression of gratitude for the humble gifts that we presented—is this not
the height of sincerity? The local products you presented have been received in full according to their number and stored with great joy. Other matters
will be communicated through Satsuma-no-kami. With utmost reverence, inadequately expressed.

Reply to the King of Chūzan

The esteemed letter of February 18th was recently conveyed by Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami, and upon perusal
we are most pleased. As your letter stated, last summer
the envoys from your noble country, Kin and Kunigami, came to pay tribute and offer congratulations to our
young lord, and when they were granted leave to return to their country, some gifts were bestowed. Your Excellency received these respectfully, and now
again you have appointed Prince Yomitanzan as an envoy to cross over to Satsuma Province to express gratitude. This matter
Satsuma-no-kami has described in detail, and your expression of gratitude for our humble gifts shows sincerity
