現代語訳

使者具志州の遠到により、芳翰を披見し怡悦している。そもそも去冬、薩州太守より申し遣わされた琉球国継目の儀について、安堵の御礼として進献した土宜を目録の如く使者が持参し、登城して台覧に備えたところ、すぐに御前に召し出され、御機嫌は誠に宜しく、また自分への贈物を紙面の如く領したことは厚情であり、欣然の至りである。そうであるならば、これより軽少ではあるが、越前綿二百把を投じて聊か寸志を表すものである。なお使者の口上に申し含めるものである。不宣。

Through the distant arrival of the envoy Gushishū, I have perused your gracious letter with great joy. Regarding the matter of the Ryukyu Kingdom's succession that was conveyed from the Lord of Satsuma last winter, as gratitude for the assurance, the local products presented in tribute were brought by the envoy as listed in the catalog, and when he ascended to the castle and prepared them for imperial inspection, he was immediately summoned before His Presence. His mood was truly excellent, and receiving the gifts for myself as listed on paper shows such deep consideration that I am filled with joy. In that case, though it may be modest, I am sending two hundred bundles of Echizen cotton to express my small token of appreciation. This is also conveyed through the envoy's oral message. Brief.
