六月三日の芳墨が薩摩守より伝えられた。去歳具志州が来貢して両大君を拝し奉って還国し、仰せを述べ、その賜った足下の数品を目録の如く拝載した。その御礼のために使者兼城を薩摩に渡らせた趣旨をよく得た。また我が足下に贈った物及び具志州に恵んだ物についても謝されており、慇懃と謂うべきである。今度また土宜を数の如く寄せられ、これを納めた。遠路の懇篤の至り、歓悦少なからずである。その余は薩摩守に馮って遣わす。恐々不具

The fragrant letter of the third day of the sixth month was transmitted by the Lord of Satsuma. Last year Gushishū came bearing tribute, had audience with the two Great Lords, and returned to his country, conveying their commands and reverently receiving your several items as listed in the catalog. I well understand the intent of sending the envoy Kaneshiro to Satsuma for the purpose of expressing gratitude for this. Moreover, regarding the items I presented to you and what was bestowed upon Gushishū, gratitude was also expressed, which can truly be called courteous. This time again, local products were sent according to their number and received. This utmost sincere thoughtfulness from such a distant journey brings no small joy. The rest is entrusted to and sent through the Lord of Satsuma. With fear and reverence, incompletely stated.
