琉球より書状が来た際の度々の慣例

一、寛永二十一年申年七月　向こうからは「誠惶謹言」があり、また「恐惶不宣」もあり、また「誠惶不備」もある。
　　　　　　　　　　　　こちらからの御返事には奉書にも、また自分のにも「不宣」ばかりがある。

一、正保二年酉年九月　　向こうからは「恐惶謹言恐惶不備恐惶不宣」がある。
　　　　　　　　　　　こちらからの御返事には「恐々不宣恐々不備」がある。

Record of repeated customs when letters arrive from Ryukyu

Item: Seventh month of Kan'ei 21 (Year of the Monkey) - From their side: they use "Seikō kingen" (humbly and fearfully speaking), and also "Kyōkō fusen" (fearfully unable to express fully), and also "Seikō fubi" (humbly incomplete).
　　From our side in reply: both in official letters and personal ones, we use only "fusen" (unable to express fully).

Item: Ninth month of Shōhō 2 (Year of the Rooster) - From their side: they use "Kyōkō kingen kyōkō fubi kyōkō fusen" (fearfully speaking humbly, fearfully incomplete, fearfully unable to express fully).
　　From our side in reply: we use "Kyōkyō fusen kyōkyō fubi" (fearfully unable to express fully, fearfully incomplete).
