　早々次郎右衛門壱人を被召寄此度之首尾真
　妙之段御申渡候由
又曰中村次郎右衛門与申者右次郎右衛門石垣之根
　に居申候を丹後守殿ゟ引取候得与呼に御遣し候者
　に而此者次郎右衛門左之脇に而弐つ玉を以胸之
　下脇ゟ左之阿者ら脇へ打怒可連申候抜口二つ有
　之故弐つ玉与申事此次郎右衛門加古い候迚肥後
　之川尻に十一月逗留仕丹後守殿に者右之通程
　跡ゟ在所へ罷帰候其内尓家中之吟味中々厳
　鋪被仰付候次郎右衛門帰宅仕候而又右之通に

　吟味被成候然處に稲葉次郎右衛門柘植九右衛
　門小泉杢左衛門川井七郎右衛門与申者共四
　人に百石宛加増被仰付候外に者冬ゟ使者に参
　候須田弥左衛門毛利次左衛門此両人者冬春度
　々之首尾を合候迚弐百石つゝ被下候是は使者
　に参候時家中ゟ茂可然与使者に差候者に而候
　次左衛門は病気《見せ消ち：気｜死》弥左衛門者登んせい仕只
　今勢州山田に居申候由
別当杢左衛門覚書曰二月廿八日之夘刻に本丸
　乗破り落城仕候落人方々に而御座候を陳所に

現代語訳

早々次郎右衛門一人を呼び寄せ、この度の首尾は見事である旨をお申し渡しになったとのことです。

また曰く、中村次郎右衛門という者が、右の次郎右衛門が石垣の根元におりましたのを、丹後守殿から「引き取れ」との呼びかけでお遣わしになった者でありますが、この者は次郎右衛門の左脇において二つ玉（二発の銃弾）によって胸の下脇から左の脇腹へ撃ち抜かれました。抜け口が二つありました故、二つ玉と申すことです。この次郎右衛門は怪我をしたということで、肥後の川尻に十一月逗留し、丹後守殿には右の通り後ほど在所へ帰参しました。その間に家中の吟味が中々厳重に仰せ付けられました。次郎右衛門が帰宅してから、また右の通りに吟味がなされました。

然るところ、稲葉次郎右衛門、柘植九右衛門、小泉杢左衛門、川井七郎右衛門という者共四人に百石ずつ加増が仰せ付けられました。その他に、冬から使者に参りました須田弥左衛門、毛利次左衛門、この両人は冬春度々の首尾を合わせたということで二百石ずつ下されました。これは使者に参る時、家中からも然るべきと使者に差し遣わした者であります。次左衛門は病気で死去、弥左衛門は登仙（出世）し、只今伊勢国山田におります由です。

別当杢左衛門の覚書に曰く、二月二十八日の卯の刻に本丸を乗り破り落城しました。落人は方々におりましたのを陣所において

Soon, Jirōemon alone was summoned, and he was told that his conduct this time was truly admirable.

It also states that there was a person called Nakamura Jirōemon, who was the one sent by Lord Tango-no-kami with the call to "withdraw" when the aforementioned Jirōemon was at the base of the stone wall. This person was shot through with two bullets at Jirōemon's left side, from below the chest through the side to the left armpit area. Since there were two exit wounds, it is called "two bullets." This Jirōemon, claiming to be injured, stayed in Kawashiri in Higo Province in the eleventh month, and later returned to his home territory as described above, reporting to Lord Tango-no-kami. During that time, a very strict investigation of the retainers was ordered. After Jirōemon returned home, he was again investigated in the same manner.

At that point, four men - Inaba Jirōemon, Tsuge Kuemon, Koizumi Mokuzaemon, and Kawai Shichirōemon - were each granted an increase of one hundred koku. Additionally, Suda Yazaemon and Mōri Jisaemon, who had served as messengers since winter, were each granted two hundred koku for their repeated meritorious service during winter and spring. These were men whom the retainer band deemed suitable to send as messengers. Jisaemon died of illness, while Yazaemon achieved promotion and is currently in Yamada in Ise Province.
