　城ゟ遠く候故遅く馳付候賊徒本丸に集り有
　之追付夜に入申候本丸東之方細川越中守柵
　を附申候
黒沢佐太夫岸半右衛門島原一揆之時節働之覚
　曰二月廿七日二之丸江乗入罷在候刻十蔵殿
　指物抜持候様佐太夫江被仰候間敵近く罷成
　手を婦さき候事難仕之由申上候得者十蔵殿
　い屋登よ其方志御覧留候故被仰付候如何様
　高名にも増奉公振に候間此指物我ゟ先江出
　候得は　上使之指物阿連に有之旨諸勢之見

　る所も有之間持候様に与被仰付候故任其意
　候此時立花左近殿にも一所に御入被成候扨
　指物を請取竹を求竿に倍高差上十蔵殿前に　
　其夜指物立罷在候也
又曰廿七日戸田左門殿小屋に而城乗共日限御
　定可被成之由にて何も御越被成候砌十蔵殿
　にも御越候て御滞座候節鍋島手ゟ城乗候由
　御聞何も御出被成候節十蔵殿甲御呼候得共
　甲持不罷在候に付岸半右衛門急き小屋江走
　帰り道にて甲持に行逢其甲を受取又翔可扁

城から遠く離れていたため、遅れて駆けつけた。賊徒は本丸に集まっており、やがて夜に入った。本丸の東の方に細川越中守が柵を設けた。

二月二十七日、二の丸へ乗り入れていた時、十蔵殿が指物を抜き持つよう佐太夫に仰せられたが、敵が近くにいるため手を触れることは難しいと申し上げたところ、十蔵殿は「いや登れ。そなたの志をご覧になっているので仰せ付けられたのだ。いかなる高名にも増して奉公ぶりであるから、この指物を我より先に出せば、上使の指物がそこにあるということで、諸勢の見るところもあるから持つように」と仰せ付けられたので、その意に従った。この時、立花左近殿も一緒にお入りになった。さて

指物を受け取り、竹を求めて竿にして高く差し上げ、十蔵殿の前にその夜指物を立てていた。

また曰く、二十七日、戸田左門殿の小屋にて城攻めの日限をお定めになるということで、皆がお越しになった際、十蔵殿もお越しになってご滞座されていた時、鍋島の手から城に乗り込んだという知らせを聞き、皆がお出になった際、十蔵殿が兜をお呼びになったが、兜持ちがいなかったため、岸半右衛門が急いで小屋へ走り帰る道中で兜持ちに行き会い、その兜を受け取ってまた翔んで戻った。

More than any distinguished service, this shows your loyalty, so if you display this standard ahead of mine, it will show that the imperial envoy's standard is present there, and the various forces will see this, so carry it." I complied with his wishes. At this time, Tachibana Sakon-dono also entered together with us. Then

I received the standard, found bamboo to use as a pole, raised it high, and kept the standard erected in front of Jūzō-dono that night.

Also recorded: On the 27th, at Toda Saemon-dono's hut, everyone had gathered to decide the schedule for the castle assault. When Jūzō-dono also came and was seated, we heard news that forces under Nabeshima had stormed the castle. When everyone departed, Jūzō-dono called for his helmet, but his helmet-bearer was not present, so Kishi Hanemon hurriedly ran back toward the hut. On the way, he encountered the helmet-bearer, received the helmet, and rushed back again.
