　城乗に似たる物に而候間三之丸をも乗らせ可申哉
　与申候得者出丸は敵明退候故如此候不入事を申
　なと各御留候故任其意に候越中殿我等は仕寄
　江罷越人数騒候半様に申付候得と堅く被仰付
　候間其段先手之者共江茂申付罷在候處に鍋島
　出丸を押返し二丸之内へ押込候故其上に而見物
　者ふ被成細川肥後殿江使を遣し三丸迄肥後
　殿人数我等等人数押込申候二丸押《見せ消ち：込｜通》し本丸迄押
　詰申候本丸に而少茂さゝへ申候故人数引上申候様にと
　従上使衆茂被仰越候間越中殿被使を遣候得者

　越中殿人数茂引上させ候間我等人数茂早々引

　内に拙者者共乗入申候本丸之家に火を懸け焼
　立申候越中殿人数茂則乗込其夜者両手之
　人数斗城江乗入申候明日廿八日諸家乗入申候
　大形如此かと我等覚之候間御尋之方茂候者
　前之処を者相心得可被申迚候夜か希之時之段
　には其方能存候事候間不及申分候
小笠原譜曰二月廿七日鍋島歟兵先に進而城中
　に責入忠政寺沢歟竹束を押並而直に打入二

城乗りに似たような状況なので、三の丸も乗り取ることができるでしょうかと申したところ、「出丸は敵が明け退いたのでこのような状況になっている。不要なことを申すな」と各々がお留めになったので、その意に従った。越中殿は「我等は仕寄へ赴き、人数が騒ぐような指示を出せ」と堅く仰せ付けられたので、その段を先手の者共へも申し付けて控えていたところ、鍋島の出丸を押し返し、二の丸の内へ押し込んだので、その上で見物なさって、細川肥後殿へ使者を遣わし「三の丸まで肥後殿の人数と我等の人数で押し込み申した。二の丸も押し通して本丸まで押し詰め申した。本丸で少しも支えがないので人数を引き上げ申すように」と上使衆からも仰せ越されたので、越中殿が使者を遣わされたところ、

越中殿の人数も引き上げさせるので、我等の人数も早々に引き上げるようにと仰せ越されたので、その段を先手へ申し遣わしたが、その内に拙者の者共が乗り入れ申した。本丸の家に火を懸けて焼き立て申した。越中殿の人数もすぐに乗り込み、その夜は両手の人数だけが城へ乗り入れ申した。明日二十八日に諸家が乗り入れ申した。大体このような具合かと我等は覚えているので、お尋ねの方もおられるが、前の処をよく心得て申されるべきである。夜駆けの時の段については、その方がよく存じている事があるので申し分に及ばない。

Do not speak of unnecessary things," so I followed their wishes. Lord Etchū firmly ordered, "We shall proceed to the siege works and give instructions that will stir up our forces," so I conveyed these instructions to the vanguard troops and remained on standby. We then pushed back Nabeshima's outer citadel and pressed into the second bailey. Observing from above, a messenger was sent to Lord Hosokawa Higo, reporting: "Our forces and Lord Higo's forces have pressed as far as the third bailey, pushed through the second bailey, and pressed all the way to the main citadel. Since there is no resistance at all in the main citadel, withdraw the forces." When the senior envoys also conveyed this message and Lord Etchū dispatched a messenger,

Lord Etchū's forces were also to be withdrawn, so we were ordered to quickly withdraw our forces as well. When I conveyed this to the vanguard, my men had already entered the castle in the meantime. They set fire to the buildings in the main citadel and burned them down. Lord Etchū's forces also immediately entered, and that night only the forces from both directions entered the castle. The following day, the 28th, all the domain forces entered. This is roughly how I remember it, so if there are those who inquire, they should well understand the previous circumstances.
