佐野弥七左衛門覚書曰二月廿七日八つ時分鍋
　島殿勢出丸江乗申候に付松倉勢之内仕寄場
　当番に居申者共直に二之丸江乗込申候同名
　小平次茂当番に而仕寄場に居合松倉責口
　ゟ一番に乗入首取手負申候松倉勢仕寄
　場非番之者は小屋に居申候故二之丸江者惣
　人数遅く参候水門見付廿間程之所江松

佐野弥七左衛門の覚書によると、二月二十七日八つ時分（午後二時頃）に鍋島殿の軍勢が出丸に攻め込んだため、松倉勢のうち仕寄場の当番に詰めていた者どもが直ちに二之丸に攻め込んだ。同名の小平次も当番で仕寄場にいて、松倉の攻撃口から一番乗りで攻め入り、首級を取って負傷した。松倉勢で仕寄場の非番の者は小屋にいたため、二之丸への攻撃には全軍が遅れて参加することになった。水門見付二十間ほどの場所に松倉勢が押し寄せたところへ、細川越中守殿が本丸より

According to the memorandum of Sano Yahichizaemon, at the eighth hour (around 2 PM) on the 27th day of the 2nd month, Nabeshima-dono's forces launched an attack on the outer bailey (demaru). In response, those from Matsuura's forces who were on duty at the siege works immediately attacked the second bailey (ninomaru). A man of the same name, Koheiji, was also on duty at the siege works and was the first to charge through Matsuura's assault point, taking a head and being wounded. Since the off-duty members of Matsuura's forces were in their huts, the full force arrived late to the attack on the second bailey.
