　眼前故御覧被成候其後大鼓樓之下鉄門に而
　一番に付跡ゟ参手を負候吉田小兵衛を助け
　申候御本陣ゟ使番を切て被差越候に付引取
　申候御軍法を破り候故急度御心付者無御
　座候得共御内證に而百石之御加増以上五百石に
　被成候己後御取立可被成との御内意に而御座候
　其時之御證文御加増之折紙茂尓今所持仕

又曰同日並河三郎兵庫旗を一番に本丸之横
　手石垣に付入申候家来中西又右衛門六左衛門

　与申者両人に而入申候少後旗奉行山田将監兵
　庫頭殿旗を茂入申候就夫少前後之争ひ有
　之候然共又右衛門入口旗者三郎兵衛自分之旗

目前であったので御覧になった。その後、大鼓楼の下の鉄門で一番乗りし、後から来て手傷を負った吉田小兵衛を助けた。御本陣から使番が派遣されたので引き取った。御軍法を破ったので厳しいお咎めがあるはずだったが、内密に百石の御加増で五百石にされた。今後御取り立てになるとの御内意であった。その時の御証文、御加増の折紙も今なお所持している由。

また同日、並河三郎兵庫が旗を一番に本丸の横手石垣に立て入れた。家来の中西又右衛門・六左衛門という者両人で入った。少し後に旗奉行山田将監・兵庫頭殿の旗も立て入れた。それについて少し前後の争いがあった。しかし又右衛門が入れた旗は三郎兵衛自分の旗、将監の旗は兵庫頭の旗なので既に違いがある。その日、柳本は左手に抜身の刀を持ち歩いていて、少し切り目が入ったので早々に手傷を負ったといって引き取った。柴田は両股を鉄砲で打ち抜かれたが、飛び回る狭い箱に腰をかけ、預かりの足軽たちに下知をしていた。

Though he had broken military law and should have faced strict punishment, he was secretly given an increase of 100 koku, raising his stipend to 500 koku. There was an implicit understanding that he would receive further advancement in the future. He still possesses the certificate and the document of stipend increase from that time.

Also on the same day, Namikawa Saburōhyōgo was first to plant his banner on the side stone wall of the main citadel. His retainers Nakanishi Mataemon and Rokuzaemon, both men, entered together. A little later, the banners of Banner Commissioner Yamada Shōgen and Hyōgonokamidono were also planted. There was some dispute about precedence regarding this. However, the banner that Mataemon planted was Saburōbei's own banner, while Shōgen's banner was Hyōgonokamidono's banner, so there was already a difference. That day, Yanagimoto carried an unsheathed sword in his left hand, and when it got slightly nicked, he quickly claimed to be wounded and withdrew. Shibata had both thighs shot through by musket fire, but sitting on a narrow flying box, he continued giving orders to his assigned foot soldiers.
