西村五兵衛覚書曰二月廿七日鍋島信濃守
　様御持口二之丸取手ゟ春者た者壱人乗込
　申候此方陣場何茂見物仕不審立候刻亦壱
　人乗込其侭煙を立申候を見付小屋てに走
　戻候而具足着仕内匠處江参左門様御
　出を待申候其内緒手乗込本丸一つに切詰申
　候左門様者三之丸口越中守様勢溜りゟ御入
　被成三之丸御通り被成二之丸之内に御床机を被
　居候御人数弐之丸内に居残者三之丸迄に居

　申候其次に平戸勢は相詰申候二三之丸者死人

西村五兵衛の覚書に曰く「二月二十七日、鍋島信濃守様のご担当口である二の丸の取手から、一人の者が乗り込んできた。こちらの陣場では皆が見物して不審に思っていたところ、また一人乗り込んで、そのまま煙を立てたのを見つけて小屋まで走り戻り、具足を着けて内匠のところへ参り、左門様のお出ましを待った。その間に緒手（諸手）が乗り込んで本丸一つに切り詰めた。左門様は三の丸口から越中守様の勢溜りからお入りになり、三の丸をお通りになって二の丸の内にお床机をお据えになった。お人数は二の丸内におり、残る者は三の丸まで

The memorandum of Nishimura Gohei states: "On the 27th day of the second month, from the ni-no-maru entrance at Nabeshima Shinano-no-kami-sama's assigned sector, one person broke in. Everyone at our camp positions watched this with suspicion, and then another person broke in and immediately raised smoke. Seeing this, [we] ran back to the huts, put on armor, went to Takumi's place, and waited for Samon-sama to appear. In the meantime, various forces broke in and pressed forward to concentrate on the main citadel. Samon-sama entered from the san-no-maru entrance through Etchū-no-kami-sama's troop assembly point, passed through the san-no-maru, and set up his camp stool within the ni-no-maru. The troops remained within the ni-no-maru, while the others stayed as far back as the san-no-maru.

Next, the Hirado forces pressed their attack. The second and third citadels were filled only with corpses. That night the main citadel held out, but until the castle fell on the following 28th day, [we] pressed into the ni-no-maru and spent the night there."

The memorandum of Amakusa Arima-hara states: "On the 27th day of the second month, [forces] suddenly broke in from the outer citadel, so when Sakon-sama's entire unit also broke in from the san-no-maru, bamboo bundle shields were deployed first. When a man named Mizutani Jiemon appeared, Jidayū Kinosuke came out together with him.
