又曰二月廿七日七つ時之上刻諸勢本丸江取詰候處
　に城ゟ防候上日晩候間今日者乗落し難くとの義
　に而諸勢引払候処に立花宗盤三池衆被召連
　細川殿先勢引払候跡之責口ゟ被乗入候是を
　見而引返し肥後勢一同に押返し乗入当家
　尓参り諸牢人其外此段及見候諸家之面々茂
　廿七日本丸壱番乗は立花殿に而有之与申候其
　後左近様ゟ飛騨守江本丸江者宗盤手ゟ一
　番に乗込候間其段伊豆守方江可被仰達候御
　尋被遊候御返事にて様之打込之働に誰迚

　茂前後之沙汰左而己難義成事に候天然与細
　川方江本人之首を取堂る由に候左候得者ほ満
　連を争様に茂相聞申候名聞を専ら尓して働
　か盤お路か成様に而者気味悪鋪事に候惣而
　高名不覚紛無様に候而被心能候少之事を云
　立る様成は心有者之聞て盤よからさる事に候
　殊に左近様斗御出陣被遊候はゝ尤共被思召
　候御老躰てけ様少斗之事を手柄免可し
　被仰立候而者御似合被成さる事に与思召上候必
　其分に而可被召置由被仰出候故何之御沙汰も不

また曰く、二月二十七日七つ時の上刻、諸軍勢が本丸へ攻め寄せたところ、城から防戦があり、日が暮れたため今日は攻め落とすことは困難であるということで、諸軍勢は引き払った。ところが立花宗茂が三池衆を連れて、細川殿の先鋒が引き払った後の攻め口から攻め入った。これを見て引き返した肥後勢と一同に押し返して攻め入った。当家に参った諸浪人その他、この件を見た諸家の面々も、二十七日の本丸一番乗りは立花殿であったと申している。

その後、左近様から飛騨守へ「本丸へは宗茂の手から一番に攻め込んだので、その件を伊豆守方へ申し伝えるように」との御尋ねがあった。御返事として「このような攻撃の働きにおいて、誰であっても前後の沙汰はそれほど困難なことです。天然と細川方へ本人の首を取ったということです。そうであれば誉れを争うようにも聞こえます。名聞を専らとして働くのがおろそかになるようでは気味の悪いことです。総じて高名・不覚の紛れがないようにお心得ください。少しのことを言い立てるようなことは、心ある者が聞けばよろしくないことです。殊に左近様だけが御出陣なさるのであれば尤もと思われますが、御老体でこのような少しばかりのことを手柄顔におっしゃり立てるのは御似合いにならないことと思われます。必ずその通りに御召し置きください」と仰せ出されたため、何の御沙汰も
