　見へて巴之旗をじ自らか多き希塀を乗而者突
　立て踏越江て盤突詰大石を崩し石打茂不構仁
　王立之振舞天晴し連者与見へ堂り
又曰細川越中守内に尾藤甚右衛門流子市川三
　郎兵衛与云浪人を機関ひ廿七日両人共に大手
　柄を無し翌日又服を勤無と一揆数百人之
　中江割て入尾藤は大勢を突僵し彼僵し戦ひ其
　あへな具討死をなす市川茂続て同心申けるか
　前日之働に手を負ひ聊働之隙を成に其時
　節に又厳石に足を痛まし踏芬りて一所に至ら

　春其中に一揆に中を隔り連当る逆徒に寄せ合
　散々に合戦し其身手を負而し死之道者逢た
　里是者本土佐之侍従家来市川織部与云
　者之嫡子成歟織部死去之後手前衰江親之
　借物身に於而土佐守江詫言を成し暇を乞て
　近年之牢人成歟共身運命仕合に而懸る振
　舞をな春登か也
又曰松平土佐守使共仙石但馬守昔年福島左
　衛門尉に遣江し古老之侍成か壮年ゟ武道之
　達者に而其覚数々な連此度も雑兵共に

見えて巴の旗を自ら持ち、高い塀を乗り越えて突き立て踏み越え、大石を崩し、石打ちも構わず仁王立ちの振る舞い、天晴れな者であると見えた。

また『治代普顕記』によると、細川越中守の内に尾藤甚右衛門の流れを汲む市川三郎兵衛という浪人を召し抱え、二十七日に両人共に大手柄をなし、翌日また奉公を勤めようと一揆数百人の中へ割って入った。尾藤は大勢を突き倒し、激しく戦ったがその最中に討死した。市川も続いて同心したが、前日の働きで手に負傷し、少し働きに隙ができたその時節に、また厳しい石で足を痛め、踏ん張って一所に至った。

その間に一揆の中を隔てられ、当たる逆徒に寄せ合い散々に合戦し、その身に手傷を負いながら死の道に遭遇した。これは元土佐の侍従の家来で市川織部という者の嫡子であろうか。織部死去の後、家運が衰え、親の借財のために土佐守へ詫び言を申し、暇を乞うて近年の牢人となっていたが、身の運命・仕合いによってかかる振る舞いをなしたのであろう。

また言う。松平土佐守の使者として仙石但馬守が昔年福島左衛門尉に遣わした古老の侍であるが、壮年より武道の達者であってその覚えは数々である。この度も雑兵共に

Also according to the records, within Hosokawa Etchū-no-kami's forces was a rōnin called Ichikawa Saburōbei, a descendant of Bitō Jinzaemon's lineage, who was employed. On the 27th, both men achieved great feats, and the next day, intending to serve again, they charged into the midst of several hundred rebels. Bitō struck down many enemies and fought fiercely, but was killed in action during the battle. Ichikawa also followed with the same resolve, but having been wounded in the previous day's fighting, there was a slight gap in his performance. Meanwhile, separated within the rebel forces, he engaged the opposing insurgents in scattered fierce combat, suffering wounds to his body as he faced the path of death. This man was likely the eldest son of one called Ichikawa Oribe, a retainer of the former Tosa no Jijū. After Oribe's death, the family fortune declined, and due to his father's debts, he made apologies to Tosa-no-kami, requested leave, and had become a masterless samurai in recent years. It was through fate and circumstance that he came to perform such deeds.

It is also said that as an envoy of Matsudaira Tosa-no-kami, there was an elderly samurai whom Sengoku Tajima-no-kami had dispatched to Fukushima Saemon-no-jō in years past.
