According to the records of the first breakthrough at various fronts during the general assault on Hara Castle in Arima Village, Takaki District, Hizen Province: On the 28th day of the 2nd month, two houses of Shirō remained unburned, so Yoshida Jūemon, a retainer of Hosokawa Etchū-no-kami, set them ablaze with fire arrows from a distance of four or five ken. At that house, Jin Sazaemon of the same household captured what appeared to be Shirō's head. It also records that at Kuroda Uemon-no-suke's attack point, the stone walls of the main castle were high, and since they were difficult to scale on the evening of the 27th, on the early morning of the 28th, under orders from Kuroda Mimasaku, the next senior retainer after Uemon-no-suke, long ladders were placed against the stone walls, and everyone climbed up simultaneously, displaying incomparable valor. As a result, the rebels were caught between large forces of Hosokawa and Kuroda from both sides, and guns were fired, but since friendly fire was possible, the guns were stopped on orders from both Izu-no-kami and Samon. Now, at the hour of the Horse, the main bailey was completely captured, and the attacking forces all raised victory cries together. A note in red ink in the Jesuit Punishment Record states: During the time when the rebels remained in Hara Castle, on the 28th day of the 2nd month at the late Hour of the Horse, Matsudaira Nobutsuna properly arranged his formation, sat on a camp stool, and personally sang victory songs three times with great flourish, with his troops joining in unison all three times. Toda Ujikane did likewise, and then the various generals performed victory cries in succession, during which time all the rebel scoundrels were completely slaughtered. It also records that Hayashi Tanba Masamasa came to Nobutsuna's residence after the fall of the castle, and others...
