難義を致【被？】らん船を用意して早速日本へ送届候間帰国可致と仰有ける
ゆへ是は夢かやうつゝかと嬉しなみたに言葉も不出良あつて私とも
四人寒風沢（サブサワ）の津太夫義兵衛左平佐太夫私ともは何卒に日本へ帰仕度と
申しけれは帝王聞し召れ御座を断つ立せ給ひ御手をいたし私とも四人
の天窓（アタマ）を三度も撫（ナデ）給ひ本国へ帰り度といへる事のやさしき志しなるとて
大に祝せ給ひ又六人の者とも申し上けるは私とも永く漂流（ヒヤウリヤウ）既（スデ）に死べきを
斯助り今又日本へ帰らんとて遠海を行無難にて日本へ帰る事の難計
けれは則此地に止り申し度と申し上けれは勝手に可致とて六人の者共へ
見向もなされす通事の者に被仰付候には日本へ帰国致四人の者ともに
屋形の内不残見物可為致其外名所古跡無残見物為致候様被仰付則案内
一右付見物致候所其 結構（ケツコウ）美を尽し言語述かたし私とも四人え壱人に付
金弐拾枚衣類并腰下ヶの都計（トゲイ）壱つ置被下候事此腰下ヶの都計珍物
にして類なし時を朝に仕掛腰へ下ヶ時を見るに自由也長さ三寸位の
都計也壱つは屋形様へ帰国の節献上仕候残る三つを商売にいたし度と
御上え御願申上則江戸えさし置申し候
一帝王の御前へ被召出候節帝王の母公并御 后（キサキ）共に私とも同席（ドウセキ）なり御母公御后
の御装束 蝉（セミ）の羽の様に薄（ウスキ）もの也金銀にて蝶なと色々縫付たる
物にて光り耀（カヽヤ）き羞明（マバユキ）程の御装束也いとやさしき美女也
一帝王の御前へ召出候内奥の御座の間へ通り候節びやう〳〵と広き
御座敷有帝王の左右に雲客（ウンカグ）の公家諸大臣並ひ居給ひしか次の間ゟ

難儀をしていることであろう。船を用意して早速日本へ送り届けるので帰国するがよい」と仰せになった。
そのため、これは夢か現実かと嬉しい涙で言葉も出ないほどであった。私ども四人、寒風沢の津太夫、義兵衛、左平、佐太夫は、「何としても日本へ帰りたい」と申し上げたところ、帝王はお聞きになって御座を立たれ、御手を差し伸べて私ども四人の頭を三度も撫でてくださり、「本国へ帰りたいという、その優しい志」として大いに祝福してくださった。また六人の者どもが申し上げるには、「私どもは長く漂流し、すでに死ぬべきところを、このように助けられ、今また日本へ帰ろうとして遠い海を行き、無事に日本へ帰ることは困難と思われるので、この地に留まりたい」と申し上げたところ、「勝手にするがよい」として、六人の者どもへは見向きもなさらなかった。通訳の者に仰せつけになったのは、「日本へ帰国する四人の者どもに、屋敷の内を残らず見物させ、その他名所旧跡も残らず見物させるように」ということで、すぐに案内がついて見物した。その結構さと美しさを尽くして、言葉では述べがたい。私ども四人に一人につき金二十枚、衣類並びに懐中時計一つずつを下さった。この懐中時計は珍しい品物で類がない。時を朝に仕掛けて腰に下げ、時を見るのに自由である。長さ三寸ほどの時計である。一つは殿様へ帰国の節に献上し、残る三つを商売にしたいと御上へお願い申し上げ、江戸へ差し置いた。
一、帝王の御前へ召し出された際、帝王の母君並びに御后も私どもと同席であった。御母君、御后の御装束は蝉の羽のように薄いもので、金銀で蝶などを色々縫い付けたもので、光り輝いて眩しいほどの御装束である。とても美しい美女である。

Each of us four was given twenty pieces of gold, clothing, and one pocket watch. This pocket watch was a rare item without equal. You wind it in the morning and hang it from your waist, and you can check the time freely. It was a watch about three sun in length. I dedicated one to my lord upon returning home, and requested permission from the authorities to use the remaining three for trade, placing them in Edo.
