人々火事と思ひ大に噪（サワキ）けれと火事にはあらす風船の烟なりとて
静（シスマ）まりけるなり
一芝居の舞台（ブタイ）は丸く作り上は硝子（ビイドロ）の障子（シヤウジ）にて賎（サン）敷は土間も有やくらも
有り何れも腰かけ有り後程高く舞台の前の幕（マク）はなし内に計
幕は七つ有此幕を壱枚つゝ上え揚る也言葉も不訳なり女形は生の
女なり何にやらい色々の狂言有
一小人嶋の人なりとて帝王にて彼ノ小人壱人被召抱置候身の長ヶ弐尺程の
人也声も小音也人品は能見得候ヲロシア国に久敷居ける其所の
風俗も覚へ言葉も同し也年は廿七歳之由に承候
一四月になり候て上下の人多く入 交（マチ）り絶（タイ）景（ケイ）なる所へ男女群集（グンジユ）
して楽事有水車の様なる物に人を乗せて廻され椛（ナグサ）也銭を
出して乗る也
一麦を粉にするに摺臼（スリウス）を水車にて廻す也
一海鼠も少々有蚫は見得す惣して貝類一円なし
一算盤は五玉なく上下玉十をつゝ有り
一烏（カラス）の頭は白きも有黒きも有真白成るも有鳴声は日本
と同し少ししがみ声也
一船は木にて骨組をして其上へ獣の皮を張る也此獣うしのやう
なる物にて海中の獣也名は不覚此獣の角長さ弐間程あり
象（ゾウ）の牙に似たる物にて長崎へ渡りて是を象牙（ゾウゲ）といふて商ふ

人々は火事だと思って大いに騒いだけれども、火事ではなく気球の煙だということで静まった。
一、芝居の舞台は丸く作られ、上はガラスの障子で、桟敷には土間もあり暗がりもあり、いずれも腰掛けがある。後ろほど高く、舞台の前に幕はなし。内にだけ幕が七つあり、この幕を一枚ずつ上へ揚げる。言葉も分からない。女形は本物の女である。何やら色々な狂言がある。
一、小人島の人だということで、帝王がその小人一人を召し抱えて置いている。身長二尺程の人である。声も小さい。人品は良く見える。ロシア国に久しく居たので、その土地の風俗も覚え、言葉も同じである。年は二十七歳だと聞いている。
一、四月になって、身分の上下を問わず人々が多く入り交じって、絶景なる所へ男女が群集して楽しいことがある。水車のような物に人を乗せて回すのは慰みである。銭を出して乗る。
一、麦を粉にするのに、摺臼を水車で回す。
一、海鼠も少々ある。鮑は見えない。総じて貝類は全くない。
一、算盤は五玉がなく、上下の玉が十ずつある。
