麻綱の周囲は二尺八寸ある。錨は二股に分かれており、一つの重さは六百貫目ほどある。
一、ペテルブルクを六月十五日に出立し、川船に乗って距離二十五里ほど進んだところ、同日夜にカナシタという所に到着した。この川の中に船着場があり、船を四十艘余り両岸に錨を下ろし、上に麻縄を手すりのように張り渡してある。これも中央から両方に引き分ける仕掛けである。
一、カナシタは港町で、別の国である。
この場所は諸国の商船が出入りする港である。この場所に翌十六日に到着した。この場所から元の船に乗り移り、同月十八日に同所を出船し渡海した。南西に向かって航行し、距離二千百五十里余りでカウヘイカワニに到着した。
一、カウヘイカワニ
この場所は別の国で一つの独立国である。国主が住んでおり、家数は一万軒余りあり、諸国の商船が出入りする大港である。繁華な土地で、家の造りはペテルブルクと同様である。寒い国であるがやや温暖である。遊女が多くいる。私どもが乗ってきた船から商品をこの場所に陸揚げして、代替品と取り替えなどもした。またこの場所から大麦・小麦の粉並びに魚獣の食料を積み足し、同年七月二十八日に出帆してアンギリツケという所へ南西に向かって航行した。この海上の距離は千五百里である。
一、アンギリツケは別の国で一つの独立国である。
この場所に同年八月九日に到着した。家数は千四・五百軒余りである。この国の都はこの場所から七日路程だそうである。この場所を同月十二日に出船してカナリヤツケへ向かった。海上千九百［里余り］

The hemp rope has a circumference of 2 shaku 8 sun. The anchor has two prongs, and one weighs about 600 kanme.
On June 15th, we departed from Petersburg and traveled about 25 ri by river boat, arriving that same night at a place called Kanashita. There is a boat landing within this river where over 40 boats are anchored on both sides, with hemp ropes stretched above like handrails. This is also a mechanism that divides and pulls from the center to both sides.
Kanashita is a port town and a separate country.
This place is a port where merchant ships from various countries enter and exit. We arrived at this place on the 16th. From this place we transferred to the original ship, and on the 18th of the same month we departed and crossed the sea. We sailed southwest for a distance of over 2,150 ri and arrived at Kauheikawani.
Kauheikawani
This place is a separate country and an independent nation. A sovereign resides there, and there are over 10,000 houses. It is a major port where merchant ships from various countries come and go. It is a prosperous land, and the construction of houses is similar to Petersburg. Although it is a cold country, it is somewhat temperate. There are many courtesans. We unloaded cargo from the ship we came on at this place and exchanged it for substitute goods. We also loaded additional supplies of barley and wheat flour as well as fish and meat provisions from this place, and on July 28th of the same year we set sail for a place called Angiritsuke, sailing southwest. The distance across this sea is 1,500 ri.
Angiritsuke is a separate country and an independent nation.
We arrived at this place on August 9th of the same year. There are over 1,400-1,500 houses. The capital of this country is said to be a seven-day journey from this place. We departed this place on the 12th of the same month for Kanariyatsuke. Over 1,900 [ri] across the sea.
