又此所へホロトカリツケといふ所より妻子を持黒人に交（マヂハ）り居るも有
此人は色白し故に黒人の内にも薄黒き人も見ゆる也しかれは黒白
の人縁組致候故にも候やとはなしける也
一椀は椰子（ヤシホ）の䓢（カラ）を用箸はしやくしを用也 椰子（ヤシヲ）図のことく
にして殊之外ふたんなる物也日本のしゆろ
に似たる物也
一此国に紫檀（シタン）多く有り常に此木を薪（タキヽ）に用る也此所ゟ薪残りたるを
長崎へ持参致候所長崎の人紫檀（シタン）なりとて大きにしやらひいたし

一木綿に織（ヲル）わたは木にみのる也故に木綿とは木わたと書なり大
木にして三四人にてからいるほとの木也其葉 桐（キリ）の葉の
ことし秋になりて花を開き其花 椿（ツバキ）のことし実に結ひ
中に白綿有り摘みて布につくる也此所に西瓜あり其外諸の物
沢山に有る国にしゆたか成る国也
一此国の猿（サル）は日本のさるの様に似たる形也しかし色は真黒にして
尻尾長し枝に登り彼の尾を枝に搦（カラミ）ぶらりとさかる物也
一山亀とて四角なる亀有りか亀甲は二重【二重亀甲の図】如斯也
一私とも此所に四拾四五日逗留致水抔くみ取亥ノ十二月廿三日出船致
マリケイツケといふ国へ走る也海上渡海之内ヲロシヤ国船頭はな咄しに

またこの所へホロトカリツケという所より妻子を持って黒人に交わって住んでいる者もいる。この人は色が白いので、黒人の中にも薄黒い人も見える。それゆえ黒人と白人が縁組みしたためでもあろうかと話していた。
一、椀は椰子の殻を用い、箸は匙を用いる。椰子を図のようにして、殊の外大きな物である。日本の棕櫚に似た物である。
一、この国に紫檀が多くあり、常にこの木を薪に用いている。この所から薪の残りを長崎へ持参したところ、長崎の人は紫檀であるとして大いに喜んだ。
一、木綿に織る綿は木に実る。故に木綿とは木綿と書く。大木にして三四人で抱えるほどの木である。その葉は桐の葉のようで、秋になって花を開き、その花は椿のようである。実を結び、中に白い綿がある。摘んで布に作る。この所に西瓜があり、その外諸々の物が沢山ある国で、豊かな国である。
一、この国の猿は日本の猿のように似た形である。しかし色は真っ黒で尻尾が長い。枝に登り、その尾を枝に絡めてぶら下がる物である。
一、山亀といって四角な亀がいる。その亀甲は二重になっている【二重亀甲の図】このようである。
一、私どもはこの所に四十四五日逗留し、水などを汲み取り、亥の十二月二十三日に出船してマリケイツケという国へ向かった。海上渡海の内、ロシア国の船頭の話に
