大きく光り電光（いなづま）のごとし身に黄色（きいろ）なる衣（きぬ）を着（き）
足（あし）に沓（くつ）を穿（うが）つ睾丸（きんたま）至つて大きやか也 犢鼻褌（ふんどし）
をもてつゝみ見（み）る人（もの）幸福（さいはひ）を得（う）るとぞ神影（しんゑい）は国中（こくちう）の
寺院（てら）などに或（あるひ）は刻（きざ）みあるひは画像（ゑがき）て尊敬（そんけう）せり。

現代語訳
○その国の人々が酒宴の席などで拳（じゃんけん）をするということがある。手を出す様子はこちら（日本本土）の風習と同じだけれども、言葉は大変違っている。

○琉球国で祭っている神
「おうちきう」水伯（ふうなきうとも言う。水の神である）
その神の姿は、身長一丈ほどで白髪を乱し、眼は大きく光って稲妻のようである。身には黄色い衣を着て、足には靴を履いている。睾丸がとても大きく、褌で包んでいる。見る人は幸福を得るという。神の像は国中の寺院などに、あるいは彫刻され、あるいは絵画として描かれて尊敬されている。
○水難を免れる秘符がある
これはふうなきうが説き教えるところであるという。「とよくすく」の万明法師が夢想によって授かったもので、霊験あらたかである。すなわち神影であるという。

○The people of that country have a custom of playing ken (a finger game similar to rock-paper-scissors) at drinking parties and such occasions. The manner of extending hands is the same as our customs (in mainland Japan), but the words are quite different.

○A god worshipped in the Ryukyu Kingdom
"Ouchikiu" Suihaku (also called Fuunakiu, a water deity)
The appearance of this god: about one jō (approximately 3 meters) tall with disheveled white hair, large eyes that shine like lightning. The body is clothed in yellow garments and feet are shod. The testicles are extremely large and wrapped in a loincloth. Those who see this deity are said to receive good fortune. Images of this god are carved or painted in temples throughout the country and are revered.
○There exists a sacred talisman to avoid water disasters
This is said to be taught and explained by Fuunakiu. The priest Banmyō of "Toyokusuku" received it through divine inspiration in a dream, and its spiritual efficacy is remarkable. It is said to be a divine image.
