　たりけり又商買之物共何連も無之而不自由成る
　尓是も伊豆守申付様は有馬原城へ天与里之国々
　之町人共万商物共持参てあきない仕候様にと急
　き参連と被觸候得と下知せられけ連は諸商人諸色
　を持参て町屋作に小屋を掛て商買したる躰は
　たつ都之如く今見へたりけ里海上には舩共をあ川免
　浮へ寄せて鉄砲に而責させたるは陸路を見るか
　如し夜中には夜討を城中ゟ可討之間一手切りに可
　仕脇ゟ春希扁可ら須夜討出たる所ゟ大鐘をつ
　く扁し其鐘を聞諸軍に而もつき申へしと夜と

　に被觸一手〱につき鐘を今置た里け里又は三之曲輪ゟ
　取はし免扁し人に手とに楯をつきそ路〳〵と押
　寄て取可被申候方々ゟ色々之楯共を被取寄楯共
　沢山参りた連は諸手へ五百枚三百枚つゝ知行高に
　依而渡さるゝ先手之大名衆被申ける様は旗本

　如何御座ある扁しと被申けれは伊豆守答て曰
　跡ゟ若き者共先加希之儀はたとへ我子甲斐

現代語訳

また商売の物も何もなくて不自由であった。これも伊豆守が申し付けたのは、「原城へ近隣の国々の町人たちが万の商い物を持参して商売をするように」と急いで参るようにと触れを出すよう下知された。そうすると諸商人が諸色を持参して、町屋作りに小屋を掛けて商売をする様子は、まさに都のようで、今見えている。海上には船を川面に浮かべ寄せて鉄砲で攻めさせたのは、陸路を見るかのようであった。夜中には夜討を城中から討って出る間、一手ずつに分かれて対処し、脇から挟み撃ちにしなければならない。夜討が出た所では大鐘を撞くこととし、その鐘を聞いた諸軍でも撞き申すべしと夜ごとに触れを出した。一手ごとに鐘を置いた。

また三の曲輪から橋を取り外し、人々の手ごとに楯を突き立て、そろそろと押し寄せて取るべきであると、方々から色々な楯を取り寄せた。楯が沢山到着すると、諸軍へ五百枚、三百枚ずつ知行高に応じて渡された。先手の大名衆が申されたのは、「旗本から若い衆などが先駆けを心がけられるのではいかがでしょうか」と申されたので、伊豆守が答えて曰く、「後から若い者たちが先駆けすることは、たとえ我が子甲斐守をも先へ越させ申さない間は、心のままに城を乗り取り申すべし」として約束があった。

Moreover, there were no commercial goods available, causing great inconvenience. Regarding this matter as well, Izu-no-kami issued orders: "Let the townspeople from neighboring provinces bring all manner of commercial goods to Hara Castle to conduct trade," commanding them to come quickly with this proclamation. Consequently, various merchants brought diverse goods, set up stalls in makeshift town-like structures, and conducted business in a manner that appeared just like the capital. On the sea, ships were brought close to the water's surface and attacked with firearms, creating a scene resembling warfare on land. During the night, when night attacks would be launched from within the castle, forces were to be divided into separate units to respond, with flanking attacks from the sides. When night raids emerged, large bells were to be struck, and upon hearing these bells, all forces were to ring their bells as well - this was proclaimed nightly. Bells were placed with each unit.

Also, bridges were removed from the third bailey, shields were planted by each group of men, and they gradually pressed forward to capture positions. Various shields were procured from different locations. When abundant shields arrived, they were distributed to all forces - 500 or 300 shields each according to their stipend levels. The daimyo lords of the vanguard said, "What if the young men from the hatamoto [direct retainers] were to lead the charge?" To this, Izu-no-kami replied, "Regarding young men charging ahead from behind, even my own son Kai-no-kami shall not be allowed to advance first - you may capture the castle at your own discretion," and this was promised.
