　悉取払ひ我等受取之刻仕寄少も無御座候
松平氏覚書曰松平伊豆守父子戸田左門父子
　両人を大将として正月四日に有馬原之城へ参着春
　夫故諸手之軍兵共力を得たり殊更伊豆守被
　参と即時に諸手へ柵を丈夫に付させたり其柵に
　鉄砲を加希一揆者ら出ば鉄砲に而打春く免城中
　へ追入使し殺に成扁し百姓等と歴々之侍共と
　戦はん事入さる事也と下知をいた佐々る諸手之
　軍兵共力を得て人之気色もかはりたり幷に諸
　手へ扶持方を百石に付四人扶持つゝ惣軍へ被出たり

　彼是味方之勢絶る事限りなし古も有間敷大将
　とて誉怒者はな可りけり
又曰松平伊豆守正月四日に有馬村原之城へ参着
　し尓ひて則下知しゐひける様は一揆原城中へ
　籠る砌り自焼して喰物共皆原之城へ取込た
　りけれは寄手之勢共扶持方不自由也ける處に伊
　豆守天与里之大名衆へ申付様は領分之買米共
　ふ残早々被取寄候得と申付る依而四五日之内にき里も
　なく米舩とも参着春則諸軍へ百石に付而四人
　扶持つゝ被出たり寄手之勢都合拾弐万とこそ聞く及

すべて取り払い、我等が受け取った時には、仕寄（攻城用の土塁）は少しも残っていなかった。

松平氏覚書に曰く、松平伊豆守父子と戸田左門父子の両人を大将として、正月四日に原城へ参着した。それ故、諸軍の兵士たちも力を得た。特に伊豆守が参陣すると、即座に諸軍に柵を丈夫に築かせた。その柵に鉄砲を備え、一揆の者らが出てくれば鉄砲で撃ちまくって城中へ追い込み、皆殺しにしてしまおう。百姓等と身分の高い侍たちとが戦うことは無用なことであると下知を出した。諸軍の兵士たちは力を得て、人々の気色も変わった。並びに諸軍へ扶持方を百石につき四人扶持ずつ、総軍へ支給した。

あれこれと味方の勢力は限りなく増大した。昔にもあるまじき大将として誉れ高い者であった。

また曰く、松平伊豆守が正月四日に原城へ参着して、そうして即座に下知したことは次の通りである。一揆が原城中に籠もった際、自ら焼き払って食物をすべて原城へ取り込んでしまったので、寄せ手の勢力は扶持方が不自由であった。そこで伊豆守が近隣の大名衆へ申し付けたのは、「領分の買い米をすべて残らず早々に取り寄せよ」ということであった。それによって四、五日の内に限りなく米船が参着し、即座に諸軍へ百石につき四人扶持ずつ支給した。寄せ手の勢力は都合十二万とこそ聞き及ぶ。

According to the memoir of the Matsudaira clan: Matsudaira Izu-no-kami and his son, along with Toda Samon and his son, served as commanders and arrived at Hara Castle on the fourth day of the first month. Therefore, the soldiers of all forces gained strength. Particularly when Izu-no-kami arrived, he immediately ordered all forces to construct sturdy palisades. These palisades were equipped with firearms, and the command was given that if the rebels emerged, they should be shot down with firearms and driven back into the castle to be killed. He issued orders stating that it was unnecessary for peasants and high-ranking samurai to engage in battle. The soldiers of all forces gained strength and their morale changed completely. Additionally, provisions were distributed to all forces at the rate of four men's rations per hundred koku to the entire army.

With all these measures, our allied forces increased without limit. He was praised as an exceptional commander, the likes of which had never been seen in ancient times.

It also states: When Matsudaira Izu-no-kami arrived at Hara Castle on the fourth day of the first month, he immediately issued the following orders: When the rebels took refuge in Hara Castle, they burned their own supplies and brought all foodstuffs into the castle, making provisions difficult for the besieging forces. Therefore, Izu-no-kami ordered the nearby daimyo lords: "Procure all available rice from your domains without delay." As a result, within four or five days, countless rice ships arrived, and immediately four men's rations per hundred koku were distributed to all forces. The total strength of the besieging forces is said to have reached 120,000.
