正月五日乙巳
松平甲斐守輝綱の天草日記に曰く、正月五日、細川肥後守光利が肥後国熊本から父である越中守の兵士を率いて来た。大阪御城から漕ぎ送らせた仕寄具足、鉄楯を配り、先鉾を興した。

Fifth Day of the First Month, Kinoto-Mi (January 5th)
According to the Amakusa diary of Matsudaira Kai-no-kami Teritsuna: On the fifth day of the first month, Hosokawa Higo-no-kami Mitsutoshi came from Kumamoto in Higo Province, leading the soldiers of his father Etchū-no-kami. He distributed siege armor and iron shields that had been sent by boat from Osaka Castle, and raised the advance spears.
