　砲而雖令撃賊城舟小城高而大的不如意
　也於是れに探求大舩幸阿蘭陀大舩在平戸
　即課阿蘭陀人漕送其舩向賊城令放石火

西村五兵衛覚書曰従平戸阿蘭陀舟被召寄
　参着之日本丸之下二丸之間谷口に人繁往
　来仕候処相見へ七町之矢倉に而石火矢打申候

　真中に打込殊之外さはき申候其節本丸塀之
　外松木之類之小筒三放打出申候二放は阿蘭
　陀舟に中り一放は舟に参堀江善兵衛白き羽織着
　仕候右之肩を春里当町居申候林伊左衛門与申
　者之小指に中り豆粒程黒之申候数打出申候
　はゝ中々舩かゝられ申間敷之由何も申候事

石谷十蔵貞清（判）

十日甲戌

『松平甲斐守輝綱天草日記』に曰く、十日に海上から鉄砲を備えて賊城を撃たせたけれども、船が小さく城が高いため、大した効果がなかった。そこで大船を探し求めたところ、幸いオランダの大船が平戸にあった。すぐにオランダ人に命じてその船を漕ぎ送らせ、賊城に向けて石火矢を放たせた。

『西村五兵衛覚書』に曰く、平戸からオランダ船が呼び寄せられて到着した日、本丸の下の二の丸の間の谷口に人が多く往来しているのが見えたので、七町の矢倉から石火矢を撃った。

真ん中に撃ち込むと、非常に騒がしくなった。その時、本丸の塀の外から松の木などの陰から小筒を三発撃ち出した。二発はオランダ船に当たり、一発は船にいた堀江善兵衛の白い羽織の右肩に当たり、春里当町にいた林伊左衛門という者の小指に当たって、豆粒ほど黒くなった。数多く撃ち出したなら、とても船を近づけることはできなかっただろうと、皆が申したことである。

また曰く、オランダ船の上乗として宮崎忠兵衛が行ったことである。

また曰く、正月中旬に石火矢のことで亀渕孫左衛門、城十郎左衛門が参ったことである。

また曰く、同じ頃、明石作太夫、藤田加左衛門が御使として参ったことである。

According to "Lord Matsudaira Kainokami Teritsuna's Amakusa Diary": On the 10th, although they equipped iron cannons from the sea to attack the rebel castle, the ships were small and the castle was high, so it was not very effective. Therefore, they searched for a large ship, and fortunately there was a Dutch large ship at Hirado. They immediately ordered the Dutch to row and send that ship toward the rebel castle to fire stone fire arrows.

According to "Nishimura Gohei's Memorandum": On the day when the Dutch ship was summoned from Hirado and arrived, many people could be seen coming and going at the valley entrance between the main bailey and the second bailey, so stone fire arrows were fired from the seven-chō watchtower.

When they fired into the center, there was extraordinary commotion. At that time, three small firearms were fired from behind pine trees and the like outside the main bailey's fence. Two shots hit the Dutch ship, and one shot hit the right shoulder of Horie Zenbei's white haori jacket, and struck the little finger of a man named Hayashi Izaemon who was at Haruzato-chō, making it black about the size of a bean. Everyone said that if they had fired many shots, the ship would never have been able to approach.
