　る甚三郎茂大地へとうとそ婦し堂里けり
　郎等是を見て引懸て退堂り希る甚三
　郎郎等共も手負数多有也細川越中守家
　中尓て横山助之進迚能侍大将有是を甚三
　郎に附ら連し尓甚三郎掛るを見て横山助之
　進伊藤十之丞と云是茂細川侍大将屏迄乗
　懸両人なから討死春助之進十之丞両人家
　頼之者共江数多手負阿りけり細川侍大将之
　出田宮内も手負な里寺尾左助は手茂不
　負也牧野伝蔵林丹波守も甚三郎に続て

　来希連ども城中江乗込事なら須して竹束を
　付て居た里希るか日茂暮方に成希れは陣所
　々江引多里け梨
又曰板倉内膳正石谷十蔵正月朔日有馬玄蕃

　頭人数之おく連る中江自身斗両人な可ら参り
　三之曲輪塀近き處に而鉄炮に而大将之内膳正
　まつたく中をうらを返して討貫るゝ尓依而
　一たま里も多まら須即時に死須十蔵は腕をか
　す里尓討連て少茂不痛引多里けり内膳

現代語訳

甚三郎も大地へどうと倒れてしまった。郎等はこれを見て引きかかって退いた。甚三郎や郎等たちにも手負いが数多くあった。細川越中守の家中に横山助之進という優秀な侍大将がいて、これを甚三郎に付けていたが、甚三郎が攻めかかるのを見て、横山助之進と伊藤十之丞という、これも細川の侍大将が塀まで乗りかかったが、両人ともに討死した。助之進と十之丞両人の家来の者どもにも数多くの手負いがあった。細川の侍大将である出田宮内も手負いとなった。寺尾左助は手傷は負わなかった。牧野伝蔵、林丹波守も甚三郎に続いて

やって来たけれども、城中へ乗り込むことができずに竹束を付けて居たが、日も暮れ方になったので陣所へ引き返した。

また別の記録によると、板倉内膳正と石谷十蔵は、正月朔日に有馬玄蕃頭の人数が臆病になっているのを見て「行かせてやろう」として、有馬人数の臆病になっている中へ自分たちだけ両人で参り、三の曲輪の塀近くにおいて鉄砲で大将である内膳正の胴の真ん中を裏を返して討ち貫かれたため、一時も持たずに即座に死んだ。十蔵は腕をかすり傷程度に撃たれて少しも痛まず引き返した。内膳正の子息である主水正は内膳正の人数を預かり、築山際で

Jinsaburō also fell heavily to the ground. Seeing this, his retainers rushed to help and retreated. Jinsaburō and his retainers also had many wounded. According to another account, on New Year's Day, Itakura Naizen-shō and Ishigaya Jūzō, seeing that Arima Gemba-no-kami's forces had become cowardly, said "Let us go forward" and went forward by themselves, just the two of them, into the midst of the cowardly Arima forces. Near the walls of the third bailey, the general Naizen-shō was shot through the middle of his torso by a musket, the bullet penetrating completely through, and he died instantly without lasting even a moment.
