　人皆是を知ら春博学之者与思ひ希る尓や何
　連に難落着者歟
勇功記載
　　熊致注進候先以改春之御慶賀申納候依而
　　当地御成敗之吉利支丹一揆寄集候有馬城
　　朔日寅夘之刻攻懸板倉内膳諸手に加下知
　　走廻り候処鉄炮に当り深手負刻座討死仕　
　　候各諸勢に一入精出し挊申候得共先手悉
　　手負或は討死数多有之付而今日者乗崩申
　　事難成候故諸勢共先陣屋江引取候次に拙

　　者共少々究手負仕候依之働不罷成無念之
　　至に御座候猶具之儀追而可申上候恐惶謹

人々は皆これを知らず、博学の者と思っているのか、何とも
　決着のつけ難い者であることか

勇功記に載せる
　　謹んで注進申し上げます。まず改めて新春の御慶賀を申し納めます。さて
　　当地御成敗のキリシタン一揆が寄り集まっている有馬城に、
　　朔日寅の刻から卯の刻にかけて攻撃をかけ、板倉内膳が諸手に加わって下知し
　　走り回っているところ、鉄砲に当たり深手を負い、その場で討死いたし
　　ました。各諸勢力はいっそう精を出して戦いましたが、先手は悉く
　　手負いとなるか討死する者が数多くあったため、今日は乗り崩すこと
　　が困難な状況故、諸勢力とも先ず陣屋へ引き取りました。次に私ども

　　も少々手負いをいたしましたため、働きが十分にできず、無念の
　　極みでございます。なお詳細については追って申し上げます。恐惶謹言

　　We respectfully report the following. First, we humbly offer our New Year's congratulations.
　　Regarding the Christian rebels who have gathered at Arima Castle for the pacification
　　of this region, we launched an attack from the Hour of the Tiger to the Hour of the Rabbit on New Year's Day.
　　Itakura Naizen joined the various forces, giving orders and
　　running about, when he was struck by gunfire, suffered severe wounds, and died in battle on the spot.
　　All forces fought with even greater determination, but since the vanguard was entirely
　　wounded or killed in large numbers, it became difficult to break through today,
　　so all forces first withdrew to the camp. Furthermore, we ourselves

　　also sustained some wounds, and therefore could not perform our duties adequately, which is
　　most regrettable. We will report the details at a later time. With utmost respect and fear.
