　一鍋島信濃守有馬玄蕃立花飛騨守家老共幷
　　松倉長門守右之者共に城乗取可申候哉弥
　　仕寄責に可仕候哉与相尋候処に乗可申由
　　申候間今朝未明ゟ詰させ申候事
　一鍋島先手之人数塀近く責寄候得共乗懸不
　　申少々手負死人御座候事
　一有馬玄蕃者共未明に塀際江寄候得共終に
　　打立ら連崩連申手負死人数多御座候事
　一松倉長門守惣勢進み兼申候其内怒き見仕

　　候者茂御座候に付玄蕃長門守両手之者共
　　進みふ申候間内膳我等懸出し下知仕候得
　　共弥進み不申候間無是非仕合に而塀際迄
　　参さいに而呼申候得共一人茂不参候其内
　　に塀に手を懸け討死仕候我ら義も一に而
　　候間少し手負申候其上両人召連候者共不
　　残手負死人仕候者御座候処引取申候事
　一立花飛騨守者共は手負死人壱茂無御座候

島原記に載せる
　一、鍋島信濃守、有馬玄蕃、立花飛騨守の家老たち、並びに
　　松倉長門守に、これらの者たちで城を乗り取ることができるか、いよいよ
　　仕寄せ攻めにするべきかと相談したところ、乗り取れると
　　申したので、今朝未明から詰めさせた事

　一、鍋島の先手の人数が塀近くまで攻め寄ったが、乗りかかることは
　　できず、少々の手負いと死人があった事

　一、有馬玄蕃の者たちは未明に塀際へ寄ったが、ついに
　　打ち立てられず崩れて、手負いと死人が数多くあった事

　一、松倉長門守の総勢が進みかねている、その中で怒っているのを見た

　　者もいたので、玄蕃と長門守両手の者たちが
　　進もうとしないので、内膳と我等が駆け出して下知したが
　　やはり進まないので、やむを得ず仕合いで塀際まで
　　参ろうと呼びかけたが、一人も参らない。その間
　　に塀に手をかけて討死した。我等も危険であった
　　ので少し手負いした。その上両人が召し連れた者たちは
　　残らず手負いや死人となった者があったところで引き取った事

　一、立花飛騨守の者たちは手負いや死人が一人もいなかった
　　事

　1. When we consulted with Nabeshima Shinano-no-kami, Arima Gemba, the retainers of Tachibana Hida-no-kami, and
　　Matsukura Nagato-no-kami about whether these men could take the castle, or whether we should
　　proceed with siege warfare, they said they could take it,
　　so we had them press the attack from before dawn this morning.

　1. Nabeshima's advance forces attacked close to the walls, but could not
　　mount an assault, and there were some wounded and dead.

　1. Arima Gemba's men approached the base of the walls before dawn, but ultimately
　　could not break through and collapsed back, with many wounded and dead.

　1. Matsukura Nagato-no-kami's main forces hesitated to advance, and among them we saw some who appeared

　　angry, so when the men of both Gemba and Nagato-no-kami
　　would not advance, Naizen and we rushed out and gave orders, but
　　they still would not advance. Having no choice, we called for them to engage and advance to the base of the walls,
　　but not one person came. Meanwhile,
　　[someone] grabbed the wall and died in battle. We were also in danger
　　so we sustained minor wounds. Moreover, all the men that both persons had brought with them
　　became wounded or dead, so we withdrew.

　1. Among Tachibana Hida-no-kami's men, there was not a single
　　wounded or dead person.
