Tadago was shocked and went to Iki's quarters, ordering physicians to provide medical care by any means, but being an old man with such injuries, the medicine proved ineffective, and he ultimately died in this military camp. From the great lord and his son down to all ranks high and low in the army mourned his loss. This Inanetsugu was a man called Inanetsugu Hanbei (later titled Ukon, also called Iki) who served Watase Saemon-no-suke, a favored retainer of Lord Hidetsugu. After Kingo's death, when Toyoshi Ason was granted Kingo's domain of Yokosuka in Enshu Province by the Taiko, Inanetsugu immediately became a retainer of Toyoshi, served in both the Sekigahara and Osaka campaigns, and lost his life in this Arima campaign at the age of eighty-one. Hearing of his accomplishments from his youth, at twenty- seven years old, he was besieged at Miki in Harima Province and twice displayed the spirit of a brave warrior. After the fall of Miki, he received orders from Lord Hideyoshi to serve under Watase, and later when Lord Hideyoshi led his army to Chugoku, he performed distinguished service at Sukumo-yama in Bitchu Province, for which he was summoned before Hideyoshi who praised his achievements. Also, during the Battle of Nagakute in Owari Province, he took two heads in a single engagement. During Lord Hideyoshi's conquest of Shikoku, he performed incomparable feats near Kizu Castle in Awa Province and received direct praise from Lord Hideyoshi. Also, during the Sekigahara campaign in Mino Province, he achieved glorious military fame near Saigawa, so
