　一松平伊豆守戸田左門今朝筑前之内原田と
　　申所迄参着被仕候由只今申来候今明ゟ当地へ
　　参着可仕と存候右両人之衆参着被致次第
　　諸事相談可仕候猶重而可申上候恐惶謹言

　　猶々主水殿儀御気遣被成間敷候爰元落着
　　まては私一所罷在候万事新兵衛藤右衛門

　　是も身骨屋免迷惑仕候乍去あるき申候間御

　先書申上候通当城惣責仕候処に諸人数一円進
　み不申候両人色々せ己やき懸申候へと跡ゟ押多て
　候様に下知仕候得共懸り申者無御座候故左候
　はゝ両人先へ立下知可仕候間早々懸り候得と有
　馬玄蕃責場へ罷出下知仕候得者ばら〳〵に
　申候者御座候得共掛り不申候余り両人見兼其侭塀
　にひしと着きさ以をと里ま祢き候而懸り候へと

現代語訳

一、松平伊豆守、戸田左門が今朝筑前国内の原田という所まで到着したとの知らせが、ただ今参りました。今日明日にもこの地へ到着することと存じます。この両名が到着次第、諸事相談いたします。なお重ねて申し上げます。恐惶謹言

なお、主水殿のことはご心配なさいませんよう。こちらが落ち着くまでは私一人で留まっております。万事、新兵衛、藤右衛門に申し付けております。決してご心配なさいませんよう。私の手は大変軽傷でございますが、先手を見回りしている内に、また石で強く打たれました。これも身体に痛みはありますが迷惑しております。しかし歩いておりますので、ご心配なさいませんよう。

また記載

先の書状で申し上げた通り、この城を総攻撃いたしましたところ、諸軍勢が全く前進いたしません。私たち両人が色々と叱咤激励をかけ申したが、後ろから押し立てるよう指示しても、攻撃をかける者がおりません。それならば私たち両人が先頭に立って指示しようと、早々に攻撃せよと有馬玄蕃の攻撃場へ出向いて指示いたしましたが、ばらばらに申す者はおりますが、攻撃いたしません。あまりに私たち両人が見かねて、そのまま塀にぴったりと付いて「さあ、音頭を取るから攻撃せよ」と

First, I have just received word that Matsudaira Izu-no-kami and Toda Saemon arrived this morning at a place called Harada in Chikuzen Province. I believe they will arrive at this location today or tomorrow. Once these two arrive, I will consult with them on all matters. I will report again later. With fear and respect.

As I reported in my previous letter, when we launched a general assault on this castle, none of the various forces advanced at all. Though we two tried various forms of encouragement and shouting, and ordered them to press forward from behind, there were none who would attack. In that case, we two would take the lead and give orders, so I went out to Arima Genba's attack position and ordered them to attack quickly. Though there were some who spoke sporadically, they would not attack. Since we two could no longer bear to watch, we pressed close against the wall ourselves and said "Come, I will lead the charge, so attack!"
