一間二田邉江罷越候処例幣使通故野立申付 一石動駅江七時過着    同十八日 一七時供揃七半時石動駅出立 一十七日御祭礼奉行大岡主膳江野間ニ而行合兼而断置候間不  及会釈候 一宇都宮城主戸田日向守城下通行之節家来差出断  申遣不致会釈 一中徳次郎駅昼休江九時前着 一大沢駅江日光御殿番出居候得共是又不致会釈 一今市駅江七時着同駅江着之旨日光御山中江使遣 一留守居之處幷近習先番之者今朝石動駅ゟ直鉢  石宿江差遣候     同十九日 一八時供揃同刻過今市出立七半時鉢石駅江到着宿坊照尊  院江案内遣 一髪月代入湯抔致支度相六時過御門主日光奉行  寺院抔江着いたし候案内使者差遣袷熨斗目半  上下着客来待 一宿坊照尊院罷越候居間江呼出逢此度  御名代之儀萬端相頼夫ゟ同院院代江も鳥渡逢  軽致挨拶次之ニ而吸間物菓子先格之通差出照尊院  客来之取持相頼置別間二扣居候 一證学院僧正入来吸物菓子差出対面御機嫌ヒ相伺  候ニ付御機嫌宣旨及挨拶ヒ帰ㇽ節玄関敷臺迄送 一御宮別当大楽院入来前二同断此度  御名代ヒ 仰付  御宮自分拝礼伺之相済難  有右ニ付拝礼之節心添之儀相頼今日内見仕度旨申述  ヒ帰候節次之間迄送 一御霊屋御別当龍光院入来前二同断此度  御名代ヒ 仰付 御霊屋自分拝礼伺之通相済  難有且    御名代之節自分拝礼之節心添之儀  相頼今日内見仕度旨申述ヒ帰候節次之間迄送   但明出宅之刻限抔承合置候 一御供御医師北村安正入来前ニ同断送無之 一御門主ゟ為御使執頭龍王院御留守居法門院入来次之  間迄出迎書院江通明日於御本坊御料理可被下旨御  口上承之勝手江入吸物酒菓子差出相済罷出御門主  弥御安全ヒ成御座乍恐珍重之御義奉存候明日御料理ヒ下  候ニ付御本坊江参上可仕旨忝仕合奉存候御受之儀宜ヒ及

一、間に田辺へ行こうとしたところ、例幣使通行のため野立を申し付けた。 一、石動駅へ七つ時過ぎに着いた。     同十八日 一、七つ時に供揃え、七つ半時に石動駅を出立した。 一、十七日の御祭礼奉行大岡主膳へ野間で行き合ったが、兼ねて断りを置いたので会釈に及ばなかった。 一、宇都宮城主戸田日向守の城下通行の節、家来を差し出し、断りを申し遣わし、会釈はしなかった。 一、中徳次郎駅昼休みへ九つ時前に着いた。 一、大沢駅へ日光御殿番が出ているけれども、これまた会釈はしなかった。 一、今市駅へ七つ時に着き、同駅に着いた旨を日光御山中へ使者を遣わした。 一、留守居の所並びに近習先番の者を今朝石動駅から直接鉢石宿へ差し遣わした。     同十九日 一、八つ時に供揃え、同刻過ぎに今市を出立し、七つ半時に鉢石駅へ到着した。宿坊照尊院へ案内を遣わした。 一、髪月代、入湯などをして支度を整え、六つ時過ぎに御門主、日光奉行、寺院などへ着いた旨の案内使者を差し遣わし、袷熨斗目半上下を着て客来を待った。 一、宿坊照尊院が来たので居間へ呼び出して会った。この度の御名代の儀について万端を相談した。それから同院の院代へも少し会って軽く挨拶し、次に吸物・菓子を先格の通り差し出した。照尊院に客来の取り持ちを相談して置き、別間に控えて居た。 一、證学院僧正が入来したので吸物・菓子を差し出し対面した。御機嫌を相伺ったところ、御機嫌よろしき旨を申し、挨拶に及んだ。帰る節は玄関の敷台まで送った。 一、御宮別当大楽院が入来した。前と同様である。この度御名代を仰せ付けられ、御宮への自分の拝礼について伺いが済んで有り難い。これについて拝礼の節の心添えの儀を相談し、今日内見したい旨を申し述べた。帰る節は次の間まで送った。 一、御霊屋御別当龍光院が入来した。前と同様である。この度御名代を仰せ付けられ、御霊屋への自分の拝礼について伺いの通り相済んで有り難い。且つ御名代の節の自分拝礼の節の心添えの儀を相談し、今日内見したい旨を申し述べた。帰る節は次の間まで送った。   但し明日出立の刻限などを承り合わせて置いた。 一、御供の医師北村安正が入来した。前と同様で、送りはなし。 一、御門主からの御使いとして執頭龍王院、御留守居法門院が入来した。次の間まで出迎えて書院へ通した。明日御本坊において御料理を下される旨の御口上を承った。勝手へ入り、吸物・酒・菓子を差し出して相済んでから出た。御門主がいよいよ御安全でいらっしゃることは恐れながら珍重の御儀と存じ上げる。明日御料理を下されるにつき御本坊へ参上仕る旨、忝い仕合わせと存じ上げる。御受けの儀よろしく

1. When I tried to go to Tanabe in the meantime, I ordered a field camp set up due to the Imperial Envoy's passage. 1. I arrived at Ishidō station after the seventh hour.     Same month, 18th day 1. I assembled my retinue at the seventh hour and departed from Ishidō station at seven-thirty. 1. On the 17th, I encountered Festival Magistrate Ōoka Shuzen at Noma, but since I had already sent prior notification, no courtesy ceremony was required. 1. When passing through the castle town of Utsunomiya Castle Lord Toda Hyūga-no-kami, retainers were sent out; I sent word declining and did not perform courtesy ceremonies. 1. I arrived at Nakatokujirō station midday rest before the ninth hour. 1. At Ōsawa station, Nikko palace guards were present, but I likewise did not perform courtesy ceremonies. 1. I arrived at Imaichi station at the seventh hour and sent a messenger to the sacred precincts of Nikko announcing our arrival at this station. 1. I sent my caretaker and advance guard attendants directly from Ishidō station this morning to Hachiishi lodgings.     Same month, 19th day 1. I assembled my retinue at the eighth hour, departed from Imaichi shortly after the same hour, and arrived at Hachiishi station at seven-thirty. I sent notification to the temple lodging Shōson-in. 1. I had my hair shaved and took a bath to prepare myself, and after the sixth hour sent notification messengers to the temple head, Nikko magistrate, temples and others announcing my arrival, then wore my lined ceremonial costume and waited for visitors. 1. When Shōson-in temple lodging came, I called him to the sitting room to meet. I consulted with him about all aspects of this appointment as imperial representative. Then I also briefly met with the temple's deputy and exchanged light greetings. Next I served soup and sweets according to precedent. I asked Shōson-in to handle the reception of visitors and withdrew to a separate room. 1. High Priest Shōgaku-in entered, so I served soup and sweets and met with him. When I inquired about his well-being, he said he was in good health and we exchanged greetings. When he departed, I escorted him to the entrance platform. 1. Dairaku-in, the head priest of the main shrine, entered. Same as before. Having been appointed as imperial representative this time, my inquiry about my own worship at the main shrine has been completed, for which I am grateful. Regarding this, I consulted about assistance during the worship ceremony and expressed my desire to conduct an inspection today. When he departed, I escorted him to the next room. 1. Ryūkō-in, head priest of the mausoleum, entered. Same as before. Having been appointed as imperial representative this time, my inquiry about my own worship at the mausoleum has been completed as discussed, for which I am grateful. Moreover, I consulted about assistance during my own worship ceremony as imperial representative and expressed my desire to conduct an inspection today. When he departed, I escorted him to the next room.   Note: I also confirmed the departure time for tomorrow. 1. Imperial physician Kitamura Yasumasa entered. Same as before, no escort. 1. As messengers from the temple head, Executive Head Ryūō-in and Caretaker Hōmon-in entered. I went out to greet them to the next room and led them to the reception room. I received the verbal message that tomorrow a meal would be provided at the main temple. I went to the kitchen area and served soup, sake, and sweets, and after completing this, departed. That the temple head continues in good health is, though I say so humbly, a most precious matter. Since a meal will be provided tomorrow, I consider it a most gracious honor to be able to visit the main temple. Please convey my acceptance favorably
