Mausoleum
I have successfully performed the proxy worship ceremony and completed all matters without any delays.
After completing this report, I slid down to the lower platform, turned to the right, placed my hands on the second tatami mat from below, and prostrated myself. When the duty officer merely turned his face toward me, there was an acknowledgment.
There was an imperial word that my efforts during this period were greatly appreciated, and after another acknowledgment directed toward Lord Izu-no-kami, the ceremony concluded.
I turned to the right and withdrew, proceeded as initially through the Hame-no-ma and Yamabuki-no-ma chambers, came to my seat, and spread word to the fellow sōshaban (masters of ceremony) that I had successfully completed the audience upon returning to Edo without incident. I withdrew before the officials on duty.
1. Upon withdrawal, I made courtesy visits to the elder councilor Lord Honda Danjō-daihitsu and the junior councilors.
1. To my fellow officials of the current service, I sent a circular notice stating: "Today I reported my audience upon returning from Nikkō and received gracious imperial words, for which I am deeply grateful. Therefore, as the duty assistants should serve, please provide various consultations."
1. Having submitted a circular notice that duty assistants should serve for the Nikkō return audience, a duty assignment circular arrived from Lord Honda Hōki-no-kami.
