四月一日
一、九時頃老中連名の奉書が月番の井上河内守殿より到着し、一覧したところ、御用の件があるので明日二日の四時に登城するようにとのことであった。即刻拝見の御請けを真鍋辰右衛門を通じて河内守殿へ差し出した。
同二日
一、今日御用の件でお召しになられたので、五時半に打ち（太鼓を）四寸の供揃えで紗半上下を着用して出宅し登城した。坊主を通じて目付衆のところへ出向いた旨を申し伝え、席で控えて待機している。

At nine o'clock, an official letter signed by the Senior Councilors arrived from the monthly duty officer, Lord Inoue Kawachi-no-kami. Upon reviewing it, there was an official matter requiring my attendance at the castle tomorrow, the 2nd, at four o'clock. I immediately sent my acknowledgment of receipt through Manabe Tatsuzaemon to Lord Kawachi-no-kami.
Same day, 2nd
Today, having been summoned regarding official business, at 5:30 I departed my residence with a four-sun retinue wearing sha-han formal dress and proceeded to the castle. Through a page, I reported my arrival to the inspectors and am now waiting in the designated seat.
