一、内藤能登守殿より明日十日に日光への御暇を仰せ出されたので、五時半に登城するようにとの老中連名の奉書が到来したとの案内の手紙が来た。承知の返事を遣わした。
同十日
一、内藤能登守殿から使者をもって、今日日光への御暇を仰せ出され、上意を蒙り拝領物を頂戴し有難い旨を知らせるために申してきた。相応の返答をして悦びを申し遣わした。ただし十五日に奉書を相渡され、十六日に発足することができる段を仰せ出されたと申してきた。何れも承知と答え申し遣わした。こちらからも祝いの使者を遣わした。
同十四日
一、内藤能登守殿が明後日発足につき暇乞いのため使者を遣わした。
同十五日
一、内藤能登守殿から今日登城があり、日光奉行への奉書を相渡され請け取られた由、明朝出立の段を知らせるため使者をもって申してきた。
一、控えの者は月次につき構わず登城し、退出後より清めを申し候。
一、退出後諸向を清め、家中の者は今朝から清めを申し付けた。

1. From Lord Naito Noto-no-kami came word that tomorrow, the 10th, permission to depart for Nikko had been granted, and that I should go to the castle at 5:30, according to an official letter signed by the Senior Councilors that had arrived. I understood this and sent a reply.

1. Through a messenger, Lord Naito Noto-no-kami informed me that today permission to depart for Nikko had been granted, that he had received the lord's intention and been given gifts, for which he was grateful. I sent an appropriate response expressing my joy. However, he said that the official letter would be delivered on the 15th and he was told he could depart on the 16th. I replied that I understood everything. I also sent a congratulatory messenger from my side.
Same day, the 14th
1. Since Lord Naito Noto-no-kami would depart the day after tomorrow, I sent a messenger for farewell greetings.
Same day, the 15th
1. From Lord Naito Noto-no-kami came word through a messenger that he had gone to the castle today, received the official letter for the Nikko magistrate, and would depart tomorrow morning.
1. The reserve personnel went to the castle for their monthly duties without concern, and began purification after leaving.
1. After leaving, all quarters were purified, and I ordered the household retainers to begin purification from this morning.
